Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - the official
Star Wars-themed lands opening in Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort - won't open to guests until 2019, but fans eager to step foot in a galaxy far, far away can now get a sneak peek at how the project is shaping up.
During the 2018 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared a flyover video of the
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge construction site at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The massive project is certainly coming together well, but as you can see there's still plenty of work to do.
For those unfamiliar,
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will transport guests to the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy's edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. Located within the land will be two attractions: one that lets guests
take control of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and another that puts guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. In addition to these two attractions,
Galaxy's Edge will have a
cantina-style restaurant, shops, and character encounters.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is set to open in 2019.
