Disney Releases Drone Flyover Video Of Disneyland's STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE Construction Site

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - the official Star Wars-themed lands opening in Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort - won't open to guests until 2019, but fans eager to step foot in a galaxy far, far away can now get a sneak peek at how the project is shaping up.

During the 2018 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared a flyover video of the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge construction site at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The massive project is certainly coming together well, but as you can see there's still plenty of work to do.

For those unfamiliar, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will transport guests to the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy's edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. Located within the land will be two attractions: one that lets guests take control of the Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and another that puts guests in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. In addition to these two attractions, Galaxy's Edge will have a cantina-style restaurant, shops, and character encounters.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is set to open in 2019.

Didn't know how to feel at first about Disney buying Star Wars but glad to see them putting in as much effort with it as they would their own characters.

Yea..lot's of effort by the creatives. But..no goosebumps. There is nothing recognizable there. It's not a place in any of the movies...so there's no "I wish I could go to xxxx" effect. Unless it's canto-bight themed...in which case, ooooops...bad gamble there Disney.

If that is Disneyland, then I can't wait to see how the attraction at Disneyworld is going to be. I read somewhere that CA will be smaller because they don't have any more land in Anaheim to expand, whereas in Florida they own like 10% of the state.

everyone is upset about tlj because no ones fan theories hit. now episode 9 is in a good spot. don’t have to worry about so many fan theory vids and forums. because people don’t care. you can just kinda go in, and see where they take you. oh, and i would be down for a star wars attraction.

Still can’t believe I skipped Last Jedi in theaters.
Just wasn’t thrilled by Force Awakens.
Star Wars ain’t in the best hands. Sorry!
