Mark Hamill Teases Return Of Luke Skywalker In STAR WARS: EPISODE IX

Mark Hamill is really active in Twitter: answering fan questions, promoting projects and lately, teasing fans with Luke Skywalker's return. This new photo could mean nothing or everything.

Mark Hamill tweeted out artwork featuring his death scene from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but this time with an iconic Han Solo line: “See you around, kid.” Since he captioned the picture “Foreshadowing,” this might mean he’s returning to the world of Star Wars.

In The Last Jedi, Luke used up all his energy to project himself in Crait and trick Kylo Ren, buying time for Leia’s rebels to escape. When Kylo figured out his uncle was not there, Luke told him, “See you around, kid” and disappeared. When we see Luke back in Ach-To, he becomes one with the force.

If Hamill does return in Episode IX, it'll likely be like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda appearing as a Force ghost. Since Kylo Ren is Supreme Leader of the First Order and is hunting down rebels, Skywalker may be needed once more to train some new jedi.

Episode IX is set to arrive in theaters on December 20, 2019. The movie will star Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron.

Thank god. Abrams would be a moron to not bring Luke back.

I thought he hated the thing now. Why would he come back?

@Roodi - Well he was against what Rian did but maybe he likes the direction Abrams is going for.

@knocturnalzen10 - ya I feel bad for JJ. Like TFA wasn’t the best movie but at least it made people somewhat curious to see where it’s going with the other episodes, not to mention having a lot of question about characters in the sequels. Then, TLJ came out and pretty much wrote off all the interesting things people were curious about in the new trilogy. So has to suck trying to undo most of Rians stupid decisions.

I think Abrams can fix things by giving Rey some actual parents from SW canon, showing the Knights of Ren finally, bringing Lando back and giving Fin and Poe something meaningful to do that drives the plot forward instead of sidetracking it.

@smgmayhem - Fix Luke giving up. They can't now. That's it. They burned these bridges like they meant to and they deserve the worst of failure. Star Wars is over.

They want butts back in those movie seats...they better retcon Luke's stupid sacrifice. Leia is not coming back...and did they ever give lando the shaft in these films. Canto Bight could have been all about Lando...but naw...we got FAT ROSE instead.

@blitzkreg - IMO Luke's sacrifice wasn't the problem. The scene and the projection was cool.

His last 20-so years of life were the real problem there.
[frick] TLJ.

At this point, I've given up on J.J. Abrams as well. Remember his comments about people who disliked The Last Jedi? We're all woman haters? You say something like that and don't expect me to ever take you seriously. Not to mention LOST, Cloverfield.. The way these people insult and toy with us like some kind of elitists. I have no good words for them. There needs to be a lot of firing at Disney for what's happened to Star Wars.

"See you around, kid"

The last words of Luke before his spirit leaves his body. Also the last words that The Joker said to young Bruce Wayne, after killing his parents.

Foreshadowing. The Last Jedi is the true origin of The Joker.

I just wish Disney never bought the rights to Star Wars. It's obviously just a cash grab to them with some weird Women SWJ agenda on top of it.
I can only imagine how broken hearted George Lucas must feel to see the worlds and characters he made get crapped on by studio executives. They are exactly the kind of people he was fighting against to make Star Wars in the first place.
