Disney's annual Magical Christmas Day Parade is the ultimate holiday party with guest appearances from Disney stars and celebrities. But this year, Mickey has something even better for us. Confirmed in ABC's promo, the show will feature a special, exclusive look at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the new 14-acre
Star Wars-themed land that will be featured in Hollywood Studios.
Excitement is building as we near the opening of the new land, which will transport guests to the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy's edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. And while Disney has provided us with sneak peeks of the various attractions that'll be featured in
Galaxy's Edge, it seems Christmas Day will be our first proper look at the new land.
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will take visitors to Black Spire Outpost where they will experience two new attractions (
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance), a
cantina-style restaurant, shops, and character encounters.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will open in summer 2019 at Disneyland Resort and late fall 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort.
