The cast of the Han Solo movie is shaping up to be pretty great so far, with Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, and Donald Glover all already chosen for key roles. However, one of the most exciting new additions is obviously Woody Harrelson, and the actor has commented on his part for the first time.

Asked for details by Mashable on who he's playing, The Hunger Games and True Detective star wouldn't reveal much, but did confirm earlier reports that he'll be serving as a mentor of sorts to Solo.

"I'm a mentor to Han, but I'm also a bit of a criminal," he revealed. "I don't think I should say much more than
that, because the Force is not allowing me." Who exactly he'll end up playing obviously remains to be seen, but as with Clarke's character, it's likely that it will be a new creation. The fact he's a criminal is something we didn't know, but not exactly a surprise given Han's no doubt shady past.

What sort of role would you guys like to see Harrelson take on in
the upcoming Han Solo movie?

I hope thay make han less of a hero and more of a gunslinger type, like he was in a new hope.

@CurlyBill - I'm curious about his arc. Han is a rogue who gets pulled to the good side (the rebellion) in ANH. Will he start out good and go "bad" in his new movie?

@CurlyBill - He really should be the "anti-hero type", for lack of a better term

@CurlyBill - That is the problem will they make Han a good guy. Han wasn't a good guy at the beginning of A New Hope. He was a smuggler who would do any job he was paid for and if need be would bail on the job. His honor went to whoever paid him and only as far as he could get away with. While he wasn't evil he definitely wasn't good. If you placed him on the DnD alignment chart he is the definition of Chaotic Neutral. Cares first and foremost about his freedom and will do a job for saintly grandma to a murderous tyrant as long as he gets paid. It was through his time spent with Luke that made him into one of the heroes of the Rebel Alliance.

Rogue One was the first Star Wars film I didn't see at least twice in the theater. Solo Solo will be the first one I don't even see once.

Why does Han need a mentor? I liked his EU origin where he was a pretty self-reliant thief, hustler, and all around con who adapted to his circumstances and survived on his own.

This mentor thing sounds like Han will probably double cross him, or vice versa, on some big job and then the usual chaos ensues. Which is fine if its done right, but I'd like to think HAN only uses people to his beenfit until he meets Chewie. Can't beleive he'd listen to a mentor as he's pretty averse to authoirty.
