Reports came in late last night that production on Marvel's
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings would be delayed until director Destin Daniel Cretton gets the results of his COVID-19 (coronavirus) test, and star Simu Liu has now taken to Instagram to provide an update.
In his post, the actor confirms that the movie's first unit has ceased production, but suggests that cameras may start rolling again a little sooner than expected.
"Per the news you've no doubt read online, our main unit is going to take a couple days off while some people on our staff undergo precautionary testing," wrote Liu
"I'm super grateful to work for a company that is proactive, cautious and empathetic during this difficult time. Everyone is in good spirits as we continue to work towards making an incredible film!"
Liu also shared a photo, but it's not our first official look at
Shang-Chi! It's actually a still from an episode of Comedy Central's
Nora from Queens.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also Tony Leung and Awkwafina, and is set to hit theaters on February 12, 2021. We got our first look at some set photos yesterday, which you can check out
