When fans learned that Peter Parker would be getting a red and black costume in
Spider-Man: Far From Home, the response was a tad mixed. While that's something that definitely pays homage to the comic books, it's also a big departure visually but what we ended up with was undeniably awesome and a look it appears the hero will be keeping moving forward.
Now, some newly surfaced concept art from the sequel's "Art of" book has found its way online and, as you can see below, Marvel Studios explored a lot of very different options.
From complete redesigns of the spider symbol on the wall-crawler's chest to a red, gold, and black suit and even a combination of his classic and Iron Spider outfits, these would have all given that fight against Mysterio and his drones a very different feel. Had that classic/Iron Spider combo been used, it might have been because Peter somehow summoned that suit to him from home.
