Composer Michael Giacchino definitely has a full plate heading into 2021. After the veteran film composer got his feet wet in the MCU with 2016's Doctor Strange, Giacchino went on to team with director Jon Watts on two Spider-Man films- Homecoming and Far From Home.
Recently, Giacchino took to Twitter to confirm that he'll be back for Watts' third Spider-Man film, which is currently untitled.
In addition to the third Spidey film from Marvel Studios and Sony, Giacchino is also set to score Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He'll also be setting the musical tone for Matt Reeve's The Batman. Looking at Giaccino's upcoming workload is definitely reminding us of Hans Zimmer mid 2000s run when Zimmer was involved with a large number of superhero projects.
Principal photography on the Far From Home sequel kicked off in late October following a series of interesting cast additions. Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange is set to play a key role in the film, along with Jamie Foxx's Electro- a role Foxx previously portrayed in the non-MCU film The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
With Spider-Man's secret identity outed in the final moments of Far From Home, fans are expecting Tom Holland's Peter Parker to enlist the help of Strange to retreat to the safety of the multiverse or to restore his secret identity via magic- similar to the 2007 comic book crossover event,One More Day.
