Alfred Molina On If THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Franchise Decides To Bring In Doctor Octopus
During a recent interview, actor Alfred Molina was asked about The Amazing Spider-Man franchise and to share whether or not he would be upset if the decided to cast another Doctor Octopus. Click here to see what he had to say.

Probably one of the most memorable fight scenes in CBM history is the fight on the train in Spider-Man 2 between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus. Alfred Molina, who brought Doc Ock to life on the big screen, recently sat down with Crave Online for an interview. During the sit down they asked him how he would feel if The Amazing Spider-Man franchise brought in a new version of Doctor Octopus. "Well, I think parts are like rental cars. They don’t really belong to you. If they do, when a new franchise gets booted up, they’re bound to, if they revisit similar villains. I think for instance a different actor is going to play the James Franco role and if they revisit Dr. Octopus and they get another actor, that’s as it should be," he explained. He also compared comic book movie parts to Hamlet, saying that it wouldn't make any sense for an actor to claim the part as his or her own.
Production for the second Amazing Spider-Man movie just kicked off, with Marc Webb tweeting a couple photos as well as an official press release from Sony announcing the film. Andrew Garfield is set to return as Spidey with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey and Sally Field as Aunt May right there beside him. The film will bring in new comers Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Jamie Foxx as villain Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn. The movie will premiere on May 2, 2014.
