Well, the cat may be out of the bag. Or should that be The Vulture?
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday evening, Michael Keaton started talking about his Marvel and DC roles, but ended the interview with quite the bombshell when he told the host, "I'm shooting tomorrow. [I'm shooting] some Vulture stuff." Could he be the sixth member of Spider-Man: No Way Home's group of villains?
These Vulture scenes being filmed for the Sony Pictures threequel does seem most likely. While the movie is less than a month away from arriving in theaters, a recent GQ profile on Tom Holland confirmed that, as of early October, there were still "a few shots to pick up, some additional dialogue to record."
With Adrian Toomes set to appear in Morbius, it's certainly possible this is what Keaton is referring to, but work on that movie is thought to have wrapped well before the pandemic hit. Many fans have questioned why none of Spider-Man's MCU villains will take aim at him alongside the likes of Doctor Octopus and Electro in the threequel, so throwing The Vulture into the mix does make sense. Another possibility is that this is for a post-credits scene teasing the actor's Morbius role.
Either way, there's clearly more Vulture on the horizon for Keaton, so consider us intrigued. You can hear the actor's comments for yourself around the 14:50 mark in the player below:
