SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Blu-ray Will Reportedly Include A Lot Of Bonus Material When It's Released

Spider-Man: No Way Home has quickly become one of the biggest superhero movies of all time, and we now have news on what to expect from the eventual home entertainment release. Find more details here...

During this "pandemic era" of box office takings, we've seen a lot of studios hurry to release movies on Digital and Home Entertainment platforms in an effort to attract those who still don't feel comfortable heading to the theater. However, with Spider-Man: No Way Home continuing to break box office records - including topping Black Panther with six weeks at #1 - it's no wonder Sony is in no rush.

A Blu-ray release has obviously been confirmed, but we still don't have an official date or any other details. However, thanks to trusted insider, Amit Chaudhari, we now know to expect "around 100 [minutes] of bonus content."

We're hoping for some featurettes exploring the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, though the secretive nature of their roles in the threequel could mean that won't be the case. On the plus side, we'll no doubt hear plenty from the movie's villains.

One deleted scene we probably can expect to see is Tom Holland's brother, Harry, playing a crook who the wall-crawler webs up moments before being doused in green paint. The actor previously confirmed that this ended up on the cutting room floor, and it sounds like a long enough sequence to justify a place here. The big question, of course, is whether we'll see more of the Spider-Men in action!

Spider-Man: No Way Home has been an unprecedented success, but the sooner we get to watch it again at home, the better. Hopefully, we won't be waiting too much longer for news on that front.

Eternals is the next MCU movie to hit Blu-ray. Check out our interview with star Lia McHugh below:

Scream took #1 one of those weeks, but still NWH reclaimed it the following week.
Not surprised about bonus material.

They HAVE TO put an audio commentary on this one. None of the MCU Spider-Man’s have had a commentary

100 minutes is nothing. Sure its more than some other DVDs and Blu rays but I miss when you got hours worth of content out of these. Like how spider-man 2 had a 2 hour documentary on making the movie. I would love something like that for this movie or endgame. Or even the Snyder cut.

But because of streaming services they don't feel like they need to try as hard. It's sad

@Mrcool210 - It's that all the extra's cost money and with the HUGE drop in sales due to streaming no longer add much, if any, additional revenue.

Who else remembers the "hours" of documentaries and special features, that were promised 20+ years ago to get DVd off the ground ;-)

Whoa whoa whoa, Tobey and Andrew? Spider-Men?!? I haven't seen the movie yet so way to go with the spoilers Josh! (And if THAT doesn't set of your sarcasm-ometer I don't know what will). Seriously I haven't seen it yet so gimme that damn disk!
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 1/30/2022, 3:28 PM
@StSteven - you caught Covid right?
StSteven
StSteven - 1/30/2022, 5:53 PM
@MyCoolYoung - Well I haven't been to the theaters since the pandemic started (which really killed me because I have a nice AMC 24 theater at a mall 5 minutes away with IMAX, Dolby theaters, a bar, and nice quality food and my wife and I used to go see movies almost every weekend), but once COVID happened we stopped all that mainly due to the fact that we have two little unvaccinated kids (too young). So even though my wife and I are fully vaccinated and boosted, despite how much I want to see Spider-Man (my absolute favorite superhero for as far back as I can remember), I can't take the risk of bringing back Omicron or any of the other variants of COVID to my kids. To watch them suffer the effects (even though they may be RELATIVELY mild) would just kill me, especially my 2 year old who isn't old enough to understand what's happening to her. So while I may be guilty of being selfish as a parent sometimes, this is one instance where I'm going to have to put on my big boy pants and wait for them to RELEASE THE DAMN DISK! :)
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 1/30/2022, 6:01 PM
@StSteven - what about wearing face shields or renting the theater to see it? I'd hate for you to miss in theaters but it may get a re-release at some point so there's still hope
StSteven
StSteven - 1/30/2022, 6:16 PM
@MyCoolYoung - It's okay. I always wear a N95 face mask whenever I go out but those are not fool-proof. And I think that my wife would divorce me if I rented out an entire theater just to watch one movie (where I'm probably the only one in the family would be interested in watching (I have 2 little girls). So it's cool. I'll wait. Small price to pay for your family's safety (or as best as you can do). One movie, Spider-Man or not, isn't worth it. I've been through worse so somehow I'm sure I'll survive. In the meantime I'll just have to sit here and listen to you guys gush over the movie. But thanks for your concern nonetheless less :)
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 1/31/2022, 12:09 AM
@StSteven - no problem man. Hopefully this thing is behind us soon so we can all gush over these movies
StSteven
StSteven - 1/31/2022, 3:12 PM
@MyCoolYoung - Yeah I feel you man. I think we're all pretty sick and tired of this, but if we want to get through it ASAP we have to stay the course and not be stupid/selfish.

As far as gushing goes, I've been having to gush alone these days as my wife doesn't gush (you know they say after you get married and have kids the gushing goes right out the window except on special occasions) - wait, what were we talking about? Oh, right...

In all seriousness, here's the definition of irony for you: before the pandemic I had some friends, my best friend in particular (named Rion), whom I would go to see the MCU movies with (and others, but mainly the MCU movies) and with whom I could geek out about this stuff (often times I would stop by Rion's place of work on my lunch break and we would do the whole "Okay, so what if Thanos is planning to..."). Unfortunately that all came to an end when this happened: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Plano_shooting. My wife and I would often attend those parties, but once we had our first daughter we stopped that because those types of parties aren't exactly for children. So in a sense you can say that our daughter saved our lives because if not for her we would likely have been there (I'll tell her about that when she's older, but then she'll want like a Mercedes or something for her first car ("But Dad, I, like, saved your lives, so you know..."). So then I joined this site as a way to geek out with other like-minded folks over CBM stuff, BUT now I can't see the movies for the sake of keeping my daughters safe so... irony can be pretty ironic sometimes. ;)
