Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland did his best to keep the role his fellow Spider-Men would play in the movie under wraps during the blockbuster's press tour. However, an exchange with BBC Radio 1's Ali Plumb last December saw a slip of the tongue from the British actor ignite a fresh round of speculation online at the time.
There had been speculation that Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man might be the one to save MJ following that fall from the Statue of Liberty, and Holland appeared to let the cat out of the bag when he revealed, "That was quite a scary stunt, what you guys did there...It was really fun. Well, I wasn't there. It looked really fun." The interviewer didn't pick him up on it, but the look on Holland's face said it all!
When Garfield was shown the clip, he laughed and responded, "God bless him. I love him, too. I love you, too, Tom. But, never change. Never change."
The full video is worth watching because Holland's reaction really does say a lot now we know how the scene played out. Ultimately, no matter how many leaks we saw or the theories that did the rounds online after interviews like this one, none of us got to see the returning Spider-Men Variants in all their spectacular glory until Spider-Man: No Way Home arrived in theaters.
We were also fortunate enough to speak with Holland last year, and you can check out the interview here.
Spider-Man: No Way Home releases on Digital on March 22 and physical platforms on April 12.
