Every hard core Spidy fan I know IS NOT going to see this flick.Got that Paramount and Sony. So be smart, cut your loses and sell the rights back to Marvel who actually cares! about the character.(we know you suits read these treads)

@headlopper I am a hardcore Spider-Man fan and I WILL be seeing this movie midnight premiere! But I do agree it'd be nice if Marvel had the film rights to Spider-Man.

Then again, those are the numbers for the Hulk movies.

So maybe my assumption will be wrong.

The sting of SM3 may effect the box office numbers...

@suspencesmith- in the words of Terry McGuiness :"De-tox!"
Are you not,in fact, speaking for yourself via your comment. If I am to 'shut up', then by default ,you must also. Soooo, our opinions cancel each other out.As for the studios never giving up the properties: Is you dad an exec employed by one of them? You seem pretty sure. As far as 'dealing' with...'it', I'd rather just go see the Avengers in 2012...and The Hobbitt...aaaannd Caddy Shack 12. Yeah, they're making another one!

Dude-the comic shop I go to-90% of people who shop there feel the same. Why?The general consensus thus far, based upon trailers, interviews and news about the movie indicates the film does not represent the true essence of our beloved Peter Parker.(who is a fictional character btw-again de-tox). I watched your vid above ,so clearly Webb is a very good director-I don't doubt that. But our feeling is that, though the film may be very good, it's just not about the Spider-man WE,for the most part, love. We're both big fans, but I will not spend my money on this movie,as I did not on Green Lantern.

three things I am not looking forward to in this movie: 1.Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker
2. Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
3. A spider-bite to the neck?...

The three things that I am looking forward for this movie: 1. Rhys Ifans portrayal of The Lizard/ Curt Connors
2. The 1st person 3D scenes
3. The parents, origin story...

will the things that I don't like about this movie, stop me from supporting Spider-Man...[frick] no!!!...can't wait till next summer...

headlopper, I agree. After seeing THOR and Captain America, I can only imagine what MARVEL STUDIOS would bring to their character. It's too bad the "Amazing" title has been raped from them ever using it, that is; if Spidey ever goes back home. As of now, it looks like the current series will continue feeling more like Spider-man than the reboot and any other interpretations outsode of MARVEL.

There's a differents between Spidey fans and Spidey fanboys. A Spidey fan is less likely to be sold on web-shooters alone.

@headlopper- Why the hate for this movie? Everything about it seems ten times better than anything Raimi has ever done. Face facts you're whining because you want to, doesn't matter. I'm a hardcore Spidey fan and I WILL be going to see this movie. And you're lying if you're saying that you aren't either.

@prettynuclear- Because their at Comicon. If, when the movie comes out, and guy's like us go see it, post their comments and say the movie was awesome, and true to Spidey,I'll change my mind, trusting your opinions, and definitely go see it. The studios have a whole year to get it right. And trust me , they read these threads- religiously.

I guess we all love a good failure and void of depth character. We love a few billion dollars worth of it.

headlopper: did someone hit your troll button? Every HARDCORE Spidey fan will not watch this movie? Cmon now, I'm pretty sure any HARDCORE fans will support this movie. and then saying 90% of people that shop at that comic store feel the same way? Really? 90%? Headlopper, you're more than entitled to share your opinion on a public forum; however, don't try to sound smarter than you are by improperly and overusing commas. You try to sound smart; but look like a douche. Maybe reading REAL books may help correct your shortcomings regarding the ill-use of syntax.

SuspenseSmith That's very true. When sequels are planned or at the very least taken into consideration, that extra narrative makes the series on a whole a better experience. Killing characters off and resolving certain plot points can lead to gambling with left field ideas for the next movie. When I see the Chamber of Secrets in HP72, and I recognize it from 6 films ago, I know this is a singular event told in chapters.

I always imagined if the Raimi series had lead to a Sinister Six final movie. Even without the reboot, it would have never happened seeing where Raimi was taking things. It's the QuiGon-Maul syndrome. Hey, look at this new character, now watch him die.
