While attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Amy Adams shared some of her thoughts on why she decided to play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man Of Steel.

From Hero Complex:

"I think the role of women in society constantly changes. And what I love about Lois Lane is that she’s been very consistently strong, successful, independent. I’m very attracted to that. It was a time when women were really — I don’t want to make some grand statement because I know it will come across as a grand statement — but [women were often limited by society then and] what I loved about her was that she was able to be smart and be feminine and I think that that’s something I know I’m going to teach my daughter, that you don’t have to be a man to be powerful. You can be a powerful woman."

Superman: Man of Steel is set to hit theatres sometime next year!

I think she'll be great as Lois, but the age thing is still getting to me. She obviously knows how to embody being Lois Lane, but when she's seen in future possible sequels, she'll look like she's pushing 40 or worse. It didn't work out for Margot Kidder. Look at Superman 4! Tell me I'm not alone in this.

Im not mad about this casting, it was def out of the blue!

i was hoping for rachel mcadams :-)

but any one will be better than kate bosworth!

Surprising cast but it's interesting, if you've seen the Fighter you know she can portray a strong but feminine woman for sure. Besides, there's no way she can do worse than Kate "Lois Lame" Bosworth, so there shouldn't be so much pressure on her.

It was out of the blue... but I think a very good pick. I wonder if she will dye her hair???

I still haven't seen her act, but from what I hear she is quite good.

@tea- Don't be sexist. B*tches hate that shit. :)

@TheLight- The difference between Amy Adams and Margot Kidder is that Amy Adams is hot to begin with. Margot Kidder, not so much. I think Adams will age pretty well with the franchise.

@clark99 & Akercocke- Amen on the lack of Kate "I need to eat a sandwich" Bosworth my brothas!

Not to sound shallow, but I have a feeling that once we see a brunette Adams in "Lois-mode", all will be made clear.

But I have to agree that Diane Lane looks way too young and attractive for Ma Kent, IMO

(And we all know that age means nothing in Hollywood...seeing as how Peter Parker will be pushing 40 by the time ASM3 comes out lol)

@ALmighty1080 - I'm using an example of how fast she aged within a few years of the 80's franchise, not the character herself. Superman 4 was self explanatory.
@MatchesMalone - Touche. She is hotter than Kidder.

She sounds really smart. I think she'll bring a new edge to Lois...like give her more depth and make the character seem more well drawn-out.

Amy was a good choice.

Lol @drellik

She will look great, even with the darker hair... Her attitude in the fighter will be great for Lois. This movie is looking up. But, then again, I liked SUCKER PUNCH and WATCHMEN, so I gueass Im being biased.
