ELSEWORLDS Star Elizabeth Tulloch Discusses The Possibility Of A SUPERMAN Spinoff Series

The "Elseworlds" crossover introduced a new version of Lois Lane and brought back Superman, but what's the latest on that solo series for the Man of Steel? Here's what Elizabeth Tulloch has to say...

Since his introduction at the start of Supergirl's second season, Tyler Hoechlin's Superman is a character fans have been demanding to see more of. The Man of Steel and Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane are part of this year's Elseworlds crossover and while we know that's being used to introduce Batwoman in her own series, what about a Superman TV show?

Well, Tulloch was asked about just that in a recent interview and believes that the appearance of Clark Kent and Lois Lane definitely sets the stage for more adventures.

"Potentially, and it was something I sort of talked to one of the producers about," she responded when asked about a Superman spinoff. "I think it’ll depend on how this is reviewed and a bunch of other external factors that nobody has really that much control over."

"I know Tyler and I would love to come back and work more together," she added. "We fortunately had great chemistry, which is not always a given."

Bear in mind that recent rumours about a Superman TV show were quickly debunked earlier this year and it's unlikely that The CW will start developing that at the same time as one featuring Batwoman.

It is, of course, possible that it will become a reality somewhere down the line, and this crossover will have hopefully opened the door for it a tiny bit wider.

Seems like a totally lovely person, and the CW writing crew definitely gets Lois and Clark's characters. But these two just don't hook me in these roles.

Also, the first Elseworlds was pretty good. Couple of belly laughs, some self-awareness, and a decent enough story. On to episode two to see how Rose stands up.

Also also... the Monitor is a better Apocalypse than Bryan Singer's was.

Also also also, that new Flash suit don't look all that great in motion do it? Especially with that weird fruit-roll-up neck when the cowl is down.

Also also also also, Amell is a fit dude and all that (I'm not attacking him)... but he seems to have lost a lot of mass and edge since the last time I've seen him. That's a guy definitely in his seventh season of a superhero TV show.

Also⁵, I can't believe it took this long, but we finally got an Amazo that wasn't a [frick]ing shrimp trawler. And not half bad, it's got to be said. Richard Picardo is still my favorite, but this did the work.

@Spock0Clock - The head seems to consist of two different pieces, a sort of neck wrap then a hard cowl. Given the hard cowl, they can't just roll it back like they used it. That's honestly my only issue with the new costume.

@Spock0Clock - Damn...haven't watched Arrow since half way through season 3 when they lost me. Never went back to it. Never got through the 1st season of Flash cause that actor who played cisco turned me off. Basically stayed away from all CW shows until Superman made an appearance in Supergirl.

I like Tyler as supes, his first episodes were very cringy but now he really has made the role his own. A solo series probably wont happen and I think is for the best, give the spotlight to less known characters like Batwoman instead.

@Saga - Good to give the spotlight to the lessor known heroes like batwoman. lets just hope we get a new superman movie soon

@Saga - If Tyler can buff up a bit...he would be perfect physically. I miss the fun lois of smallville and the reeves films.

She looks too old for Lois and when she stands next to Tyler...

But then on that note, she acts younger than she looks (in a weird way)... I really don't know how to feel about her.

@Kurne - Well Kryptonians do age slower
Kurne
Kurne - 12/11/2018, 2:31 AM
@dracula - Haha I did think about that while watching actually. Still, that's not exactly the point in time I think I wanna start at for a series (where Lois is noticeable aging past Clark).

@Kurne - Same issue with Amy Adams next to Henry. Seriously miscasted. Kidder and the chick from smallville were the best in my opinion.

If All the shows get renewed next season. My hopes for big bads are
Arrow: The Ninth Circle
The Flash: Black Hole
Supergirl: Lex Luthor
Legends Of Tomorrow: Monarch
Batwoman: Red Alice

1. This season seems to be adapting the Jeff Lemier run on the Green Arrow comics, the perfect place to go next is the Benjamin Percy run, it is just as good, if not better than Lemier.

2. We have had 2 seasons of non speedster villain, and its been great, but if they use black hole, then we can have a speedster, with Negative Flash, but she wont be the only major threat.

3. They are introducing Lex this season, if John Cryer does good, it makes sense to bring him back. Hopefully Cryer does good, all I know him from is Pretty In Pink and that crap, Two and a Half Men.

4. They should adapt Armagedon 2001, they can introduce Captain atom, and go with DC's original plan for the book.

5. Every shows first season has had the hero go up against someone who is like a dark version of them. so makes sense to put Kate against her twin sister.

Black Lightning doesnt really do season long arcs, seems like they are going to tell a single story over a few seasons

@dracula - For Black Lightning they could try to do Kobra.

Since they've danced around it enough, what about the guy from Nightflyer as the CW Batman?

@GeneralZod - Is that what it was? She was hard on the eyes at times.
nikgrid
nikgrid - 12/12/2018, 2:25 AM
@GeneralZod - Haha Lol yes. It was an entertaining crossover but OK CW we get it...you prefer Supergirl over Superman. The way Supes is going on about how She's stronger than him, and the world doesn't need Superman because it has Supergirl. Geez.

@Waldurr - face lift or she’s going On a Karen Carpenter diet.

Well i know i want a Superman tv series, especially if i can't have a MOS 2!
One set in the Titanverse would be super cool!

@Doomsday8888 - Yes Titanverse for sure, because CW Supes is too soft and useless.

As far as Ruby Rose goes, I thought she was fine, and I'd be willing to give her show a shot. I liked the chemistry between Lois and Clark and would love to see that show and what they can do together

Why do they get these actresses that look so old next to their male counterparts ? I never brought Amy Adams as Lois. I kept seeing a woman that was pushing 50...whereas Henry looked 30 something-ish.
Do these casting directors screen test ? Sheessh !

I don't see Tyler as supes, sorry. Also this chick probably the worst Lois.

I enjoy a lot these takes on Superman and Lois and while it would be too good to be true the other solution would be to make them very recurring characters in Supergirl. In that way they would always have a fairly enough amount of presence. They could also try to show us how Metropolis is like through them if they became recurring player.

But Superman should always be from now on a major character in all the annual crossovers!
