Henry Cavill is probably doing his utmost to forget about Justice League and moustache-gate and that will start with a lead role in Mission: Impossible - Fallout this summer. However, the actor remains keen on reprising the role of Superman in the DC Films Universe and he's made it clear in yet another new interview that he hopes to make a sequel to 2013's Man of Steel in the not too distant future.

"I’m having a lot of conversations, behind-the-scenes, with certain people and we will hopefully be having conversations with other people who are also behind-the-scenes to make things start happening," Cavill says below. "It is very much in my desire to do a Man of Steel 2, a direct sequel to Man of Steel, and there is a whole bunch of Superman story that I want to tell. There is a whole style of Superman’s character that I’m very keen to tell and I’m looking forward to the opportunity."

Collider goes on to note that they've been hearing some rumours about Cavill's contact - presumably that he's signed an extension of some sort - and make a point of mentioning his interesting reaction to being asked about that. What do you think the future holds in store for this version of Superman? Are you hopeful for Man of Steel 2 or do you think we'll see him in Shazam? Share your thoughts below.

@TheGoddamnPeel -
You really don't need to qualify that statement. The average human can distinguish between ugly and beautiful. It just means your eyes are open.
And yes, Cavill is more handsome than he has any right to be. Not even his brothers are as good looking as he is. Me thinks witchcraft is involved.

@Battabing - Not witchcraft. Gene splicing. Henry Cavill is part of the "Perfect Man program". Only Henry Cavill and Chris Hemsworth were the two successful experiments.

Jeremy Renner was a short funded experiment. And William Dafoe was an experiment gone wrong.

Thanks to a directionless studio, it's been 3 films and I still don't know what to expect Superman to do next: level cities or crack jokes with the Flash
