Jesse Eisenberg Steps Out After Lex Luthor Casting News

Jesse Eisenberg Steps Out After Lex Luthor Casting News

If you were wondering whether Jesse Eisenberg has been getting into shape for his role or whether he is already in Michigan, here is your chance to find out. These are the first images of Eisenberg since the announcement that he is playing Superman's archenemy Lex Luthor.

Jesse Eisenberg was spotted in New York City on January 31st holding hands with his girlfriend Mia Wasikowska. That same day, it was announced that Eisenberg had won the coveted role of villain Lex Luthor in the highly-anticipated Man of Steel sequel.

From these images it is quite clear that Jesse Eisenberg is still in New York City and has not made his way to Michigan where the Man of Steel sequel is currently being filmed. It also appears that the star will remain his dainty self for the film. The actor is reportedly around 163 lbs or 74 kg and his height is 5'9. Does this allude to Lex Luthor not having much face time with Superman and being manipulative and controlling from behind the scenes (as suggested by rumors)?

The Oscar nominated actor also has not gone bald yet, but obviously if he is going to be bald in the film it looks like he will wait till he gets on set. It is also interesting that he has been spotted out in NYC and not Los Angeles (where the Warner Bros. Studios and offices are) on the day of the announcement.

So it's just a couple of pictures of him in New York. I don't get it, why is this news?

Umm... OK, can we have a new set of rules? It's posts like this that make absolutely no sense at all. It started with Ben Affleck being cast as Batman and from there people have continued to post photos of him stepping out of his house whether his physicality has improved or not. Unless this was something like "Jesse Eisenberg steps out... With a shaved head!" then this is just another useless page. Seriously, you didn't see people posting "Robery Downey Jr. steps out after Iron Man renegotiation" or "Shawn Ashmore in New York with a beard while filming Days of Future Past".

that's because Snyder is pulling a Mandarin on everyone and only using Eisenberg for flashback scenes

@Lozzy

I guess this article was aimed to get people aware of the fact that he's still pretty much the same size as usual. I don't think Lex needs to be vin diesel or the rock big but it would be good for the guy to put on just a few more pounds. Either way it's all about the brains and money in the end so I see no problem with it.

MoS 2 is exciting, obviously, but the stalking of actors and useless pages are annoying.

We'll he just got cast recently, so if he is going to be buff it's not like he is going to suddenly buff straight away. Meaning this article is pointless.

@Jollem: Kenneth Rocafort is THE BEST Artist at DC currently, and arguably even the business. That overlay is freaking beautiful!!

What are you jack offs talkng about? Its definitely news.

It tells us Eisenberg isn't filming, isn't in detroit, hasn't shaved his head and didn't buff up at all for the role.

It took you morons longer to comment than not to click on it, lol.

I agree.
He doesn't need to be overly muscular at all, really.

It's not even necessarily important to the character in every occasion.
He can just be a man of average build. In shape, but not someone who looks like they've been on some kind of HGH.

I WOULD however prefer he not look like a teenager (or an actor who could pass as one) because then he comes across visually as a young know-it-all or some sort of smart-aleck whiz-kid and that puts me off.

I would have preferred he look more like a traditional adult, and not one that could very likely be carded when trying to a buy beer. Jesse can build as much muscle as he can/needs before filming, but he's still not going to lose that baby-face any time soon, because at age 30(?) he still has it.

Hey you can't have everything, though. I get that. Whatever.

I'm not even saying it couldn't work for the role in a very different way, but I'd be lying if I said I personally wasn't skeptical.

@cosmicman

Err, exactly - he isn't filming, he isn't prepping just yet - there's nothing new. As I mentioned in my other post, you don't see people grabbing shots on the internet of Chris Evans walking around in NY because its proof that he isn't filming Avengers 2.

As I said, MoS 2 is very exciting, but people need to stop making these useless posts.

I still cant see it yet. I'm not convinced he can pull it off. I can see him having the intellect of Luthor, but I can't see him as a threatening villain. I hope he proves me wrong. I want this movie to succeed.

I know it's not going to happen but I so wish he was playing Lex in flashbacks. This way you could see how it took Lex years to get as powerful as he is then Superman takes it away. Plus with him being so young he can't have bought a third of Metropolis yet. I could see LexCorp being DC's version of Google. Just imagine twenty or thirty years from now what Google will be doing in the Robotics and AI industry. The same thing with Elon Musk company SpaceX and his Hyperloop invention. I just don't see him having his hand in the Military and Government side yet at such a young age yet. He definitely is not presidential yet.

Maybe I will be wrong and they will say he made his first Billion when he was only ten and so by his thirties he should be pretty powerful and rich. I just personally see WB saying more that his company is still in the infancy stages. But I so hope to be wrong and he has been building his empire for years.

But just think how cool it would be to see flashbacks of Lex in the 70 or 80s building his prototypes of Nanotechnology or Holographic Technology. Back then when Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were making basic computers Lex would be working on far out there technology. Even people like Richard Branson which Zack Snyder said he was basing this version of Lex off of looks completely different now then in the 70s. So just imagine if Jesse was to play the young nerd version and a different actor was to play the suave version. That looks like he could rule the world.

I know that's not going to happen but it would have been interesting to see. This way you give more story to Lex which could have been nice to see.

To me, I feel that Jesse Eisenberg looks like a straight twin for Lex Luthor's (SON?CLONE?) from Crisis on Infinite Earths..

Y'know, the lanky one with red curly hair and the gold body suit... It's been years since I read it, but I remember their Lex looking just like Eisenberg!!!

So stoked! He's gonna rock the sh!t out of a Lexo -skeleton!!! Lanky bastard!!!

I think the flashback idea sounds pretty cool...IF Batman were not in this... Would've been interesting seeing it hop around throughout Lex's life just like MOS did with Clark/Supes...showing his rise to power, building his company, having events from the first film coincide with the second..

Unfortunately, you can't flesh out such a villain with Batman and WW hogging the show...

Unless Bruce Wayne had some corporate correlation to young Lex...?? Hmmmmm...

Dating Miss Stoker? That is a better get than landing the role of Lex Luthor.

Jesse Eisenberg is actually only 5'7. I'm two inches taller than him, and I'm supposed to believe he is Lex Luthor?

I would think if Lex Luthor was real, he would be taller than me, not shorter.

And it looks like he didn't do any physical training to prepare for the film either.

Why do people assume he was cast on the day of the announcement or recently beforehand? He could have had the role for months...
