Four years after its initial release, Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, a reboot of the eponymous character's film series and launching pad of the DC Extended Universe, continues to stir up controversy amongst its core audience. Some, most notably the likes of Kevin Smith and Angry Joe, have praised it as an exciting, risk-taking reinvention of a superhero whose core attributes, at least to them, feel a bit dated. Others, like film review channels Red Letter Media and Ralph the Movie Maker, have declared it an assault on the senses that betrays everything that made the character iconic and worth revisiting to begin with.

However, up until this point, popular editorial channel Wisecrack have only served up morsels of their Man of Steel opinions in video reviews for Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad (to my memory). Now, they've come out with a full video detailing their thoughts and opinions on the schismatic picture.

What are your thoughts on Man of Steel? Do you align more towards the positive or negative point of view? I'm curious to hear your opinions, so leave your comments down below.

From Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures comes "Man of Steel", starring Henry Cavill, directed by Zach Snyder. The film also stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Henry Lennix, Christopher Meloni and Laurence Fishburne.

The only criticism I have ever had is the wanton disregard Superman seems to have in terms of using destruction to achieve his ends.

@rkshuttleworth - Do you mean in the comics or films. Be careful.

Nothing went wrong; it was great. This and Wonder Woman are the only genuinely good DCEU film to date.

@Darkknight2149 - agreed; Man of Steel and Wonder Woman were awesome, I wish they'd just ignore everything else they've done and move forward with those two as a foundation.

Agreed. Technically, they probably have to keep the actors from Justice League around, but MoS and WW should be the main foundation for the future DCEU. In fact, I think practically all of the characterisations from Suicide Squad should be retconned, even if the actors don't change. But if all else fails and The Batman is good, at least we'll have a decent Trinity.

@Darkknight2149 - i really like MOS and never got the hate on it. It has great rewatch value. WW...omg....i have no idea why this movie is so revered. It really is not that good. I will probably watch it again in a few years, but i would not go out of my way.

@Darkknight2149 - Man of Steel sucked. It was such a dreadful slog made by someone who didn't get the character of Superman and why he's appealing.

Uh, again with this endless song and dance. For those that enjoyed the film like me, yay! For those that hate it, understandable. Fin. How many times is this going to keep getting brought up??

@TheLight - Seriously! Did they run out of films to "find fault with"? The very best "faults" I have ever read were not really even faults, but unmet preferences by others. I LOVED it! And I grew up reading Marvel, but this film is one of my favorite super hero films.

I have friend, a brother, and a brother-in-law who all love this film (and it gets better every time we see it), BUT they have NOT read the comics, so they have no built-in preferences, but were able to enjoy it on its own terms.

I love this film.

in therms of behind the scenes, it is WB's faults who were trying to emulate the dark knight trilogy and with the failure of Green Lantern pushed them to assume that dark and serious was the right way to go. Snyder did what he was told to. Plus so many other things happened that we don't know. I just want people to stop blaming Snyder for everything that went wrong with the DCEU
