2 Reviews in 1: Surrogates & 9

I decided to save time and organize 2 of my largest disappointments into one review...

First thing's first, I'll knock out the similarities... Both movies look great, Surrogates pulls off making a city filled with mannequins really well, and 9, as expected, has these amazing looking characters, mainly the bad guys. With that said, both movies were also lacking in plot and both movies basically showed you everything worth watching in the trailers...

start with Surrogates, surrogates is the the combination of I, Robot, and The Matrix, but here's the kicker, they removed all the action. This movie is short, but it feels like a whole day of watching all the talking parts of I, Robot. Anyone whose read a review by me knows that I am not an explosion driven pyromaniac common movie goer, but this plot is nowhere near making up for the lack of robot wall running, gunning, etc. They even used the same old dude from I, Robot. It tried in no way to be original or knew, and used Bruce Willis as a selling point (i trusted you Bruce)...

9, is what you get when Tim Burton says, "I'm tired of stop motion, let me venture into computer animation..." and of course, like everything he touches, this movie has all of these stunning visuals. I had the pleasure of catching this movie in theater 6, so the banner said 69_ (i have a picture). This movie was too Wall E for me, even though it was probably in production before wall E was released, and even without comparison, you figure out the end before the middle of the film. This movie was forgettable as was Surrogates.

Both of the movies were disappointing, and unoriginal is the basic point of this review.
I, Robot, i mean Surrogates 2/5
Wall E, i mean 9 3/5

rent them on DVD and do listen to the names that trailers will blurt out to convince you to attend their films!!!

flames @ that's the basic point (forgot to log in when i posted this, it's my review). if you saw the trailers for both, then you pretty much saw the main things you needed to. i mean, surrogates didn't even try to distance itself from i, robot...

betty @ me too... me too

Why is it so hard for people to get that Tim Burton did not direct 9! Its a Shane Acker film..Burton just stuck his name on as producer to get it some publicity.

Rorschach-didn't know that... either way, film sucked, and Tim Burton's name was probably the main factor in me showing up. And I think, not 100% sure, but I disliked every movie Tim Burton has made after Nightmare Before Christmas...
