Ricardo Delgado ("The Matrix: Reloaded") is a professional concept and storyboard artist, who has worked numerous big-budget Hollywood films. He recently designed storyboards for the
Michael Bay-produced
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which he posted on his website. They reveal a slightly different origin story for
Splinter and the
Turtles than what appeared in the film. As you can see in the storyboards below, Splinter actually becomes interested in martial arts from watching television while in Sach's laboratory. In the theatrical cut, Splinter comes across a book in the sewers on the art of
Ninjutsu. He studied it and then trained the Turtles. What did you think of the new origin story?

The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES directed by Jonathan Liebesman ("Wrath of the Titans"), and produced by Michael Bay ("The Rock").
