Taika Waititi’s
Thor Ragnarok is getting a universal praise from the critics, and one of the elements that is mentioned the most in the early twitter reactions is the visual side of the motion picture. The director and producers said many times that the movie is a love letter to one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century, Jack Kirby. His legacy has had a heavy influence on the movie, and it’s easy to spot his sensibilities, from the characteristic logo to the wallpapers in Grandmaster’s room.
Fandango, a popular movie tickets distributor has teamed up with Hero Complex Gallery and Marvel Studios to honor Kirby’s vision and everyone who worked on
Thor: Ragnarok. They managed to assemble the crew of forty artist to create a unique
Thor: Ragnarok Art Showcase.
The exhibition is free (but you should send an RSVP to
[email protected]) and open to the public from October 20 through November 5 at Los Angeles’ Hero Complex Gallery, 11am-6pm, Wednesdays through Sundays. For more information visit Hero Complex’s
website.
