Mark Ruffalo Says THOR: RAGNAROK Begins A Hulk Trilogy Storyline That Concludes With AVENGERS 4
Because of a rights issue, Marvel can't actually produce any more solo Hulk movies - however, the studio has seemingly mapped out a story arc for the Green Goliath that's set to kick-off in Thor: Ragnarok.
Marvel may not have any more solo Hulk movies in the pipeline, but that doesn't mean we won't be seeing some quality storylines for the Green Goliath play out in other MCU projects.
According to Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Feige approached him with the idea of giving Bruce Banner/The Hulk an arc that would span three film, kicking off in next month's Thor: Ragnarok and culminating with the still untitled fourth Avengers movie.
"So basically, Kevin [Feige] pulled me aside before this, and said, 'If you were gonna do a... if we were going to do a standalone Hulk movie, what would it be?' And I said, 'I think it should be this, this, this, and this and this, and ends up like this.' And he's like, 'I love that. Why don't we do that in the next three movies, starting with Thor 3 and then we go into Avengers 3 and 4.' And I was like, 'That sounds great!' And so we are at the beginning of this arc."
We know the third Thor flick will adapt some elements of Planet Hulk, so does this mean the next two Avengers movies could take influence from the follow-up to that comic run, World War Hulk?
It's definitely a reasonable assumption given what's been revealed up to this point, but we'll have to wait and see if Thor: Ragnarok provides us with any more hints when it hits theaters on November 2.
