Marvel Studios has a stellar track record but many fans agree that they stumbled somewhat with Thor: The Dark World back in 2013. Despite that, the Alan Taylor helmed sequel has a score of 66% on Rotten Tomatoes and it grossed over $644 million at the worldwide box office.

Regardless of whether you loved or hated the movie, we're now taking a look at some of the artwork which was used to bring Asgard and its many inhabitants to life after Kenneth Branagh's first instalment (mostly) kept things grounded here on Midgard.

In this first batch of concept art from The Dark World, we're focusing on some gorgeous pieces depicting key moments like Jane Foster's arrival on Asgard and Frigga's funeral along with scenes which weren't actually shot, including Malekith addressing his fellow Dark Elves and various attacks on the God of Thunder's home.

A little less Darcy (talking) would have went a long way.

@StormXmen123 - lol. I would insert the Captain America gif where he says pretty sure he does not dress like that but I do not know how.

OT: Aquaman awarded with extended China release. It's staying on the big screen in China until Feb. 6, 2019.

That final battle with Malekeith was so anti-climatic. I was seriously expecting Thor to showcase his power arsenal, but instead we got a gimmick finisher.

I feel like Thor TDW is a movie that absolutely hurts itself by cutting it's best scenes. You can tell there was all sorts of awesome stuff they filmed for the intro battle on Hogun's planet. The Sif/Jane love triangle plot was obviously hurt by Jamie Alexander's injury, so I can't hold them to that, but it was still a subplot which needed to be somewhat followed up on. Then there's the stuff with Loki and Frigga where they had an awesome scene between her and Thor about that relationship which was cut even though it really hit home how much Thor loved his mother.

Then there's this awesome scene which was cut for what I assume were pacing purposes

And this

And this

All being cut made the movie more streamlined, but one of the core issues with TDW is that it felt like fluff much of the time. Scenes like these as well as the stuff they cut from the Dark Elves really would've gone a long way

This movie wasn’t phenomenal but it was a good step up from the first Thor which i think is the worst MCU movie. It committed the cardinal sin of being booooring

Something fun I did last month. Thor 2: Ragnarok-ified...

@SheepishOne - can you do this for the entire movie? that was amazing. i'd love to watch the whole movie edited by you.

@Capfan82 - Yep! Giving the whole film the "Ragnarok" treatment...to the extent I can, anyway. I have another video on that channel for how I'm restructuring the opening and Dark Elf exposition. I'll be doing more in the coming weeks, too.

@Capfan82 - Still figuring out how I'm going to dish it out. If I can, YouTube is an option (assuming it doesn't get pulled by Disney), or maybe google drive. One way or another, I'll figure it out and let you know.
