After seeing the God of Thunder on the big screen and seeing his adventures in the Avengers EMH cartoon, this was a definite must-see.
I'll start off by being honest. DC has better animated movies than Marvel. The art, animation, voice acting, and storylines are usually better than what Marvel can offer.
That being said, this movie was pretty good. Dealing with Thor's younger years, it shows us how cocky and arrogant our favorite Asgardian truly was. His interactions with his friends and family really proved that he was 110% sure his shit didn't stink. I mean, the Prince of Asgard has to have a little bit of an ego, right?
Sif and Amora (Enchantress) have minor roles and there are a few surprises that dedicated Thor-ites would probably smile at.
The voice acting was pretty spot on for all the characters involved in this. I was really glad to see the Warriors Three get a fairly big part in this movie. They were awesome comedic relief.
Volstaag, Fandral, and Hogun aboard the Thunder Runner
I won't give too much away, other than Thor is tired of everyone doubting his skills, so he wants to prove himself by going to Jotunheim, home of the Frost Giants, to find the lost Sword of Surtur, the Fire Demon.
Everything about Thor in general just seems awesome to me. Dude's got an attitude, family drama, and a conivving weasel of a brother, yet he still manages to prove himself worthy time after time.
Thor: Tales of Asgard gets
8.5 nipples out of 10.
This review might be a little short and somewhat pointless, but it's 4:30 in the morning and I can't sleep lol.
