RUMOR: Marvel Studios Developing A Mysterious Project Known As THOR QUEST

According to a new rumor, Marvel Studios is in the process of developing a new project called Thor Quest. It obviously has something to do with the God of Thunder, but we have very little else to go on...

Chris Hemsworth recently shared a video and message to social media which many fans took as an indication that his time in the MCU may be winding down, and there's been speculation that his upcoming role in Avengers: Doomsday might even be his final time swinging Mjölnir.

There's a chance this might be the case, but if Hemsworth is planning to hang up the hammer, it sounds like Marvel Studios might be forging ahead with a couple of Thor-related projects without him.

A recent rumor claimed that a fifth solo Thor movie is officially moving forward without Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi, and Daniel Richtman is now reporting that another project titled Thor Quest is also in development.

We have no idea if this will be a movie or Disney+ series (the latter is probably a safer bet), and the scooper doesn't have any other details. There are no specific comic books titled Thor Quest, but there are some Disney-produced children's activity books. Could this be a new family-friendly animated series, perhaps?

"Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Hemsworth wrote in his recent post. "For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable... Next up, Doomsday!"

It certainly sounded like he was bidding farewell to the character here, but it's generally assumed that Hemsworth will also be a part of Avengers: Secret Wars - unless the Mighty Asgardian warrior is set to join his ancestors in Valhalla in Doomsday!

Hemsworth has previously suggested that it might be time to kill off the character.

"I feel like we’d probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably warrants that. I feel like it’d probably be the finale, but that’s not based on anything anyone’s told me or any sort of plans. You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don’t know... am I at that stage? Who knows?"

What do you make of this rumor? What do you think Thor Quest could refer to? Drop us a comment down below.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars were recently hit with significant delays, with Doomsday now set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars positioned for December 17, 2027.

Both movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, who also make their MCU return after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

"Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in each film that we made. We’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin, Lou and the entire Marvel team to bring this epic adventure in storytelling to new and surprising places for both the fans and ourselves”, said The Russos in a statement after the SDCC panel.

Interesting , an animated series targeted more towards young kids or families makes the most sense to me but we’ll see if true…

Thor Quest could be a working title but I’m surprised they still went with it given they have a show called Vision Quest coming up or perhaps they have changed that title?.

How can Marvel regroup from its disastrous
last couple of years?

Focus on

X-Men w/ solo movies for Wolverine and Storm

Street Level w/ Daredevil, punisher, and Spider-Man

Introduced new characters like Nova,Blade,Ghost Rider

RE : "How can Marvel regroup from its disastrous

LOL!
Wat?
"disastrous last couple of years"??!?!?!

You mean the last couple of years post-covid when they've had a billion dollar plus or close to billion dollar grossing movie at the box office - including the highest or second, third highest grossing movie overall in some of those years - and were/are the only studio that can make that claim?

Especially at a time when people are not going to movie theaters as much anymore and studios are just happy when their tentpole movies clear the $500-600 Million mark?

They've had a couple of movies that haven't performed nearly as well as most expected them to perform, but this just means the Marvel/Disney are pretty much like every other studio in existence that experiences flops every now and then.

You people need to get off whatever nonsense it is you're smoking and get back down to Earth here with common sense and reality.

"X-Men w/ solo movies for Wolverine and Storm"

They flopped under Fox w/Wolvie and there isn't any chance
things have changed for the better. Actually the opposite

"Street Level w/ Daredevil, Punisher, and Spider-Man"

Only Spidey is possible. The others lose money if the budget
and P&A exceed $100M. Things have changed.

"Bring back to T’Chala Black Panther."

The disrespect that demonstrates kills ANY use of the character
outside of animation.

Agree however on new characters.

@spr0cks - In Phase 5 they've had 3 seriously underperforms and 1 disaster. That's more than you're saying. Even if you add the two latter 2023 Phase 4 movies, not much changes. That said the covid effect is real and hasn't gone away. Until recently all the movies made money at the B.O. and that's gone.

Disappear and drown the whole emm she ewe that's how they can regroup.

Also, have someone kidnap Kevin Feige and put him in a dark cave somewhere.

What if it’s a special presentation about Hercules going on a quest to kill Thor?.

It would be a nice way to pick up after the L & T post credits scene imo.

How about a movie where Thor goes on a journey to find himself

Instead of Love and thunder, they should've started a new trilogy based on Gor The God Butcher. Culminating with Hemsworth playing three different Thor's. They shit the bed with that flick and everything since Endgame.

Maybe it's a movie about a quest to find Thor's brain. Because the last movie clearly showed signs that Thor had brain damage from fighting Thanos.

A video game would be awesome if done right.

An animated show would be cool too, except on streaming where you get 6 episodes every two years. Way too slow of production.

Saying "Next up" doesn't sound like bidding farewell.

As for death of the hero, erm, let's not make the Tony Stark mistake again please. Just recast if Chris goes.
