Not too long ago, Paramount Pictures assembled a writers room for the Transformers franchise which has since developed a number of spinoffs that are all set to be released over the next few years. The first of those is Bumblebee, a movie which has already cast Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena in an '80s set adventure which is expected to serve as an origin story of sorts for the fan-favourite Autobot.

While the spotlight is expected to remain on the titular character, common sense told us that other familiar robotic faces might appear and it's been confirmed that Optimus Prime will be among them!

Peter Cullen, who has voiced the iconic Autobot on both the big and small screens, revealed during a recent interview that he'll be providing Prime's voice in the movie which is currently set to be released next year. It's unclear just how significant a role the actor will have but seeing an earlier version of his character in what is steadily becoming a shared Transformers Universe should be a whole lot of fun.

What would you like to see from Optimus Prime in Bumblebee? Let us know your thoughts below.

They are killing my childhood... ibget what many of you will say. This is supposed to be mindlessness summer fun. The cartoon was 8"s cheese... blah blah. But these movies are soooo bad. How did they get from the first one which was solid and entertaining( right down to prime saying. One shall stand one shall fall) to this absolute garbage.... Judd Nelson must be shaking his head lol

Will it be connected to the DCEU ? Or just some standalone bullshit ? Is that why the cast a different OP ? Will it still be Ben Affleck playing Batman or will he be replaced by Don Cheadle ??

Already have seen more than plenty of Bumblebee but I’ll watch to see if Ironhide shows up. Miss that autobot! Also hoping for a decepticon or two...Barricade please! He and Bumblebee need more backstory to create a more cohesive rivalry.

I dislike the movies after the first one but I'm a tiny bit optimistic about this one because it's from the director of Kubo and the Two Strings. Though the story is apparently an Iron Giant like story which makes me afraid it'll be well an Iron Giant story. I don't mind movies that use the same old clitches and tell stories that have been done 100 times before but only if it feels like it's being told for the first time like How to Train Your Dragon.

The guy that voices the interactive optimus prime at the transformers ride would be the perfect person to pass the mantle of optimus to

Can't they just completely reboot this series? There is absolutely no reason to adhere to any kind of Michael Bay canon. Nobody will care.
