Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have been
developing the Preacher series since July, but now, the duo have revealed that they've begun work on the script in earnest [
via Twitter]. Said Goldberg,
"UPDATE: We have started writing a script. We met with Garth [Ennis]. He gave us great notes. PREACHER!!!!!!!” It's good to know that Garth Ennis will be involved with the project, in some capacity. Given the graphic nature of the comic book series,it's likely that some of the subject matter will need to be diluted to air on AMC. And who better to help decide what needs to be pulled back and what absolutely needs to stay than the person who wrote the comic?
With Garth's blessing, my next biggest question is whether or not Rogen, Goldberg and fellow executive producer James Weaver have had preliminary talks with any actors for the roles? Preacher features a very dynamic group of characters and I certainly don't envy the Casting Director on this one.
