The accusations against British actor Noel Clarke continue to pour in, with the latest wave (once again shared by The Guardian) specifically relating to his conduct on the set of BBC's Doctor Who.
A number of women have come forward to allege either being sexually harassed or inappropriately touched by the actor during his time playing vehicle technician Mickey Smith from 2005 to 2010. While he strongly denies these and past accusations, production companies and broadcasters in the UK have quickly distanced themselves from Clarke, while he's also been stripped of his honorary BAFTA as investigations continue.
The full report features several upsetting stories about Clarke's alleged misconduct, including him telling one costume assistant that he "liked girls with long hair, as it gave him something to hold on to when doing them from behind." A female runner and driver says she was touched inappropriately while transporting the actor, while a volunteer from a 2016 Comic-Con in Bournemouth, England, claims that she was sexually harassed and touched inappropriately by him as well.
As for John Barrowman, who played Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and spinoff series Torchwood, several people have come forward to recall him exposing himself on set on a regular basis. While they stress that it was never done in a sinister way, it understandably still upset those involved.
Describing it as "high-spirited behaviour" that was "only ever intended in good humour to entertain colleagues on set and backstage," the actor said: "With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously."
Barrowman also makes it clear that he was unaware of any accusations about Clarke at the time.
While Clarke isn't someone who has made an impact in the world of superheroes and comic books, he is fondly remembered by many fans for his work in Doctor Who. He's also become a big fish in the relatively small pond that is the British film and TV industry, but that's almost certainly over now unless Clarke can somehow disprove this ever-growing list of allegations.
Billie Piper hasn't commented yet (Clarke played her love interest for a time), but this report does mention that David Tennant's actions on set couldn't be faulted in any way.
