Noel Clarke Now Accused Of Sexual Misconduct On DOCTOR WHO Set As John Barrowman Also Comes Under Fire

A fresh wave of allegations about British actor Noel Clarke (Star Trek Into Darkness) have been revealed, this time specifically regarding his - and John Barrowman's - conduct on the set of Doctor Who.

The accusations against British actor Noel Clarke continue to pour in, with the latest wave (once again shared by The Guardian) specifically relating to his conduct on the set of BBC's Doctor Who

A number of women have come forward to allege either being sexually harassed or inappropriately touched by the actor during his time playing vehicle technician Mickey Smith from 2005 to 2010. While he strongly denies these and past accusations, production companies and broadcasters in the UK have quickly distanced themselves from Clarke, while he's also been stripped of his honorary BAFTA as investigations continue.

The full report features several upsetting stories about Clarke's alleged misconduct, including him telling one costume assistant that he "liked girls with long hair, as it gave him something to hold on to when doing them from behind." A female runner and driver says she was touched inappropriately while transporting the actor, while a volunteer from a 2016 Comic-Con in Bournemouth, England, claims that she was sexually harassed and touched inappropriately by him as well.

As for John Barrowman, who played Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and spinoff series Torchwood, several people have come forward to recall him exposing himself on set on a regular basis. While they stress that it was never done in a sinister way, it understandably still upset those involved.

Describing it as "high-spirited behaviour" that was "only ever intended in good humour to entertain colleagues on set and backstage," the actor said: "With the benefit of hindsight, I understand that upset may have been caused by my exuberant behaviour and I have apologised for this previously."

Barrowman also makes it clear that he was unaware of any accusations about Clarke at the time.

While Clarke isn't someone who has made an impact in the world of superheroes and comic books, he is fondly remembered by many fans for his work in Doctor Who. He's also become a big fish in the relatively small pond that is the British film and TV industry, but that's almost certainly over now unless Clarke can somehow disprove this ever-growing list of allegations.

Billie Piper hasn't commented yet (Clarke played her love interest for a time), but this report does mention that David Tennant's actions on set couldn't be faulted in any way.

Maaaan I knew Barrowman would come under fire for this...but at least it's always described as "never sinister". Still uncool but kinda softens the blow

I just wish in these scenarios people would say something at the time and nip it in the bud then and there.

If as the allegations suggest it's mainly been him making comments like "hair pulling from behind" then call him out.

it's going to prevent him using that behaviour going forwards or at least make him see sense if he's finding it funny and too stupid to realise he's making people uncomfortable.

It doesn't sound great but if you're not calling him out and maybe playing it off with a fake laugh or silence then you're not helping and he'll think it's fine to do it again and that you don't mind.

It's the same with certain humour, I know which of my friends I can tell a dark joke to and which friends to not even mention it around. if my friend hates dark humour but they don't tell me and they just laugh or play it off, it will likely happen again.

Obviously the stories also mention inappropriate touching which is something else entirely though

@JakeyChappers - That's very ignorant. Not saying that to attack you, but in a literal sense, you're being completely ignorant of the dynamics in the TV industry. Actors have power and value to a production. Costume assistants and runners have no power. They would be sacked in a heartbeat. Maybe now with everyone worried about a #metoo scandal, but not in 2005.

You expect some young 20 something who is working her arse off to break into the industry to risk it all because of a sleezy actor. Reprimand a far older and more powerful male co-worker who your employers consider valuable. Baring in mind how many people are queuing behind you for that opportunity. Never going to happen.

I hope that now that people in power in the industry will feel less entitled or at the least safe to treat these young girls like a buffet. But you are placing blame on them by suggesting they are at fault for being treated this way and not speaking up. No.

@Vision85 - That used to be the case but I wouldn't say it is anymore especially after recent years of abuse being brought forward and made public.

I understand how it comes across as ignorant but unfrotunately that's what we need to progress and prevent this happening as regularly as it is. If people don't speak out then there's nothing we can do to help them, it's good he hasn't gotten away with this but he's still had a lot of time to further his career and affect others negatively since these offences took place

Barrowman is just very camp and openly gay. Some people are just prudes but when actors have to get naked in front of costumers and make up artists regularly for prosthetics, sex scenes etc they obviously become desensitised. He is just like that. It is not the same is being a creep who touches up runners, that is a piece of shit that needs to be blacklisted.
