ARROW S2 Ep19 Titled "The Man Under The Hood"

ARROW S2 Ep19 Titled "The Man Under The Hood"

Is it referring to Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) suiting up as Red Arrow/Arsenal? Or is it referring to another character, the Red Hood. And if it's the Red Hood, is it the Joker version or Jason Todd? Let the speculation begin!

Via his official Twitter, Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim announced what was supposed to be a "special announcement" of episode 19 of season 2 is titled "The Man Under the Hood."

While normally this title would seem to be referring to Oliver, we've been given some hints that it might be something more. A few months ago, star Stephen Amell gave us a couple of hints, including "Oliver isn't the first vigilante" and "Not all hoods are green." With episode twenty being titled "Seeing Red," I believe Batman frenemy Red Hood might be making an appearance, which is possible.

Then again, if that is indeed Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad promo, could The CW actually be using the early, pre-acid Red Hood version of the Joker?

Your thoughts?

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

Would only make sense of it's connected to the DCCU.

They could also mean Roy, because Ollie was called the Hood for the majority of season 1

Red hood would be awesome! They really should consider tying this to their cinematic series. For those who don't like the costumes or characterization of the characters (like Oliver's costume and goatee or Barry Allen's Flash costume) keep in mind these are the beginnings of these characters. They have yet to fully develope. Oliver could develope a who new suit in the future and the Flash only has his first suit as well. So by the time a justice league rolls around these characters will be fleshed out and be ready for a cinematic debut.

Not all hoods being green is probably a reference to Roy becoming Speedy,Red Arrow,or Arsenal.

I feel this could be Red hood, and here is why:

Remember not to long ago, Amell said how there was going to be a character coming up where when he said the name, he had the hardest time because he was overcome with excitement. Then on top of that, we've been alluded to that Nightwing could possibly make an appearance on the show down the line. So you add all this stuff up, and best bet tells us the crazy man Todd could be the one to make an appearance.

Now will Todd make an appearance in THIS episode? I don't really think so. I honestly think this episode could be about Oliver. But, 'Seeing Red' and 'Not All Hoods are Green' might be nods to Red's future appearance.
Pasto

Then when Amell said that "Oliver wasn't the first vigilante." that could either be a nod to Nightwing or Red Hood.

What I'm trying to say, is that one of those 2 individuals will make an appearance in some way shape or form down the line.

could be referring to Red Arrow...
but if it is to Red hood it would be awesome....

Has to be Red Hood (We already know a that Olive and Roy wear hoods), I think the Nightwing casting info was just to throw people off the real character track. And I just thought of a theory that may be a huge spoiler down the line, but it the green Mirakaru substance really just vials of Lazarus juice because Ivo was looking for it to heal his wife and it will bring Cyrus Gold back from the dead.

See I disagree. IF and I mean IF Arrow is connected to the DCCU, it would make sense for Harley and Red AND Nightwing to make an appearance on Arrow. WB/DC could use this to introduce the characters, then use them in the future.

Tony93

I have a feeling the big name is gonna be "Batman" doesn't necessarily mean the episode is about batman. most likely red hood, with the introduction to red hood that name can be dropped between Oliver and him, obviously the vigilante before Oliver was Batman. Before all of them...that is the big announcement.

If they were going to add Arrow to the DCU, they should have him reference the alien invasion in Metropolis somehow. Kind of a big event to not talk about

I'm really not thinking it'll be Red hood. First thing that came to mind was Roy as Red Arrow. Idunno, I might be wrong but I just don't think it'll be Jason.

Good point, but would they actually go as far as calling him the "Red Hood"? That's going to piss off fans..

It has to be Red Hood, I doubt they would have made a "special announcement" just for it to be about Roy.

Imagine if it was Jensen Ackles playing Red Hood again but in live action this time, that would be the greatest thing ever.

Jensen Ackles is too old. Jason should be about Roy's age.
