S1E1 -THE RED KNIGHT-
Batwoman’s bio introduction starring Kate, Jake, the murder, and bio, of Mayor Sebastian Hady, and nameless thugs. Guest appearance from SUPERGIRL’S Maggie Sawyer.
-Kate Kane began operating in Gotham City a few months ago after Batman's absence one year ago. She is a lesbian.
Flashbacks and montages to her early childhood depict Kate and her sister Beth as identical twins who were very close to each other. On their twelfth birthday their mother took them to a restaurant. On the way to the restaurant, a group of gunmen attacked the family and took them hostage as a personal vendetta against their father (whom they refer to as “sir”), Colonel Jacob Kane, who, in turn, led a rescue mission to save his captured family. During the standoff, their mother was killed as a warning; intent on saving his children, the colonel led his men into the battle. While Kate was rescued unscathed, her sister was wounded and later died in the hospital.
Later, Kate attends West Point. However, when it is alleged that she is in a lesbian relationship with another student, Kate's commanding officer asks her to disavow the allegation. Refusing, she admits to being lesbian and is forced to leave the school. Back in Gotham City, she begins to date a rookie Maggie Sawyer, but break up following a fight where Kate berates Renee for keeping her sexuality hidden from her colleagues and family.
Upset and wandering the dark streets of Gotham, Kate is attacked by a mugger but easily defeats the criminal. She is then shown fixated by the Bat Signal after realizing the Dark Knight is nowhere to be seen. Kate begins fighting crime using military body armor and weaponry stolen from her father's off-Gotham, military base. She takes to molding and stylizing the armor, creating her own bat-persona.
-Colonel Jacob "Jake" Kane-
-A well-respected, honorable soldier who’s seen more death than any man should. His battles have left him with a hardened exterior, but it was the death of his wife and daughter that took its greatest toll. His survivor’s guilt has caused him self-loathing and pulled him, emotionally, from his surviving daughter, Kate.
He will learn later in the series that the only incident of his past of which he was not proud,
would come back to haunt him. The Colonel, in his early days as a soldier, served in CPT Sebastian Hady’s company as SFC Frank Rock’s 2LT. It was during one firefight that Hady took dreadful advantage of a young woman before leaving her for dead.
Too late to save the woman, with gunfire littering the battlegrounds, the men could not take the time needed to save the victim; their lives were at risk. Fearing the fragile reputation of the military would be scathed, and hundreds of miles from the scene, the men decided not to report the crime; instead, Rock and Kane beat Hady within an inch of his life.
From this mayhem, a child was born, kidnapped by rebels and thrust into slavery before escaping as a young teenager.
His family was one of the founding families of Gotham. While away in combat during his fledgling years as a soldier, even before they had children, his wife cheated on him Roland Daggett. Daggett and his wife kept the affair going for years until Daggett swindled the family out of nearly every dollar. Their marriage was never the same and their fortune never recouped.
-(Mayor Sebastian Hady)
-Once retired from the military, Hady moved to Gotham City to begin a political career; the deaths of the Waynes making national news, Hady knew the city was fragile and looking for someone strong enough to keep the city’s industrial momentum moving forward. Although corrupt, the city, unknowing, was fond of it’s mayor. After reelection, Hady felt invincible until the day his home was invaded and he was found dead, stabbed in the throat and the nether regions.

-the deputy mayor who finished Hady’s term and served 8 years consecutive, stepped aside for 8 years while Edgar Heed was hated by the public during the first 4 and Roland Daggett chose not to run after his 4, relishing the title, once again, to Hill, who will likely serve another 8.

I care that half you cops are on the take and that half this city is burning down and the other half is holding the torches.” Drunk and clumsy, she grabs his collar and pulls him in close, whispering, “If you’re serious [slamming down her phone number], call me.” He mistakes this for being hit on until he realizes he is now a part of “Team Bat.”
