SAS: RED NOTICE Star Ruby Rose Would Return To BATWOMAN But Doesn't Think It Would Serve The Story - EXCLUSIVE

Talking to us about her new movie SAS: Red Notice, Ruby Rose says she would be open to reprising the role of Kate Kane to wrap up her arc in Batwoman, but doesn't believe that's what is best for the show.

SAS: Red Notice is set to be released in the U.S. on March 16th, and arrives in the UK on March 12th where it will premiere on Sky Cinema.

Based on Andy McNab's book of the same name, the action-packed thriller follows Tom Buckingham (Sam Heughan), a suspended special forces operator who finds himself taking on heavily armed mercenaries on a train deep inside the Channel Tunnel when it's attacked by Grace Lewis (Ruby Rose) and her team as they declare economic war on the British government.

It's a Die Hard-esque adventure which proves to be a lot of fun, and we were recently able to catch up with Rose to discuss her role.

Since leaving Batwoman, the actress has talked a lot about why she left The CW series, but not whether there's a possibility we could see her return to finish off Kate Kane's story (the series has certainly left the door open for that by not killing the character off).

Here's what Rose told us when we asked if a one-off appearance might be in the cards:

"I mean, I'm obviously moving on to other roles as I think I've done about three films since. I would totally do it. I don't think it would serve the story because I think building the new Batwoman is more important than going back too far into Kate Kane, but of course I would, I would absolutely do anything they wanted as far as that [Laughs]. I haven't watched the whole thing, but I've watched a couple of episodes, and I think how they're handling it is beautiful. I think it's her time to shine."

So, never say never, but it's probably not going to happen just yet. We don't know how Kate's story will be concluded without an appearance from Rose, but if The CW come calling, perhaps she'll answer!

We'll have more from her soon, but you can watch our full interview with the former Batwoman above.

What a shame the way this show turned out. Batwoman deserves so much better. Plus we know WB and the CW are capable of better things, especially after Superman and Lois so far.

I feel like while there are a lot of pros to actors working in tv because you can really build the character arc and you get a steady paycheck, if you’re in a show you’re going to be too busy to be getting lead roles in movies

Wait, how would it not serve the story? She's the main character. So many of the characters involved are involved because of her. Even if it was a one time return where she's a villain or something, just imagine how that could effect the team. Especially the new batwoman who probably admires her.

Or maybe she's saying that because she knows whatever the writers come up with sucks. If that's the case, then I got a lot more respect for her.

Putting Ruby Rose in Batwoman would be the craziest crossover idea

I mean there was some interesting story potential with Bruce seemingly coming back that could've been explored had she stuck around. Shame it was scrapped with the quickness.

Doesn't Think It Would Serve The Story

... The story is literally people looking for her.

It is strange how they are acting in the show like they are about to find her.

Just let it be.

Anyone seen Black Lightning?

I admit I'm no expert on why she left, but I thought it was because of difficulties working with her, or something?

I guess at this point she can only return for an episode or two but if they want her back they can pull of a Fox Mulder like scenario where he was gone for a season.

Have a feeling there was more going on behind the scenes than they are saying.

This could've been avoided if they cast a different person I was always skeptical that someone with a film career like Ruby would jump straight to a series.

@Godzilla2000Zer - Initially for Ruby Rose, it was the intrigue of playing a lesbian superhero. For the CW, it was the opportunity to get a somewhat well-known/up & coming actress to lead their Batman-affiliated series.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - Yeah that makes sense but it was a gamble

This show is and has always been dogshit, but Ryan is a better character than Kate ever was, even if the preaching is still obnoxious. Kate was a massive hypocrite though, which is what made her high and mighty attitude so much worse.

@Kurban - Are you serious? That BLM speech in the first episode of S02 was just SO bad 😖 It was a shoehorned-in cringe inducing moment of epic proportions. I was willing to give it a go, but that was the final straw after putting up with the rushed exposition of her backstory and the ever irritatingly cheesy Alice. Superman and Lois is excellent at least, so that’s a bonus 👍🏻

@Tasmaniac - No it was deffo bad, I’m just saying I like her more than Kate. Anything is better than “It will be, when it fits a woman.”

Actually think this season is an improvement over the sophomore season, and Javica is indeed the better actress in the role. Not perfect by any means but rather watch this than the I can't stand my Daddy is Superman cuz he leaves the house all the time that is the prevalent Superman and Lois angsty teen scenario. In any case I'll appreciate each show for what they have to offer and try to overlook the stuff that I can do without.

The Third episode with Victor Zsasz was pretty good. I'm still watching and actually I'm rooting for it to succeed. I think they renewed it for another season so I'll keep giving the show my support.
