DOOM PATROL Finds Its Chief In Former 007 Star Timothy Dalton

The DC Universe's Doom Patrol series is really rounding up quite the cast and now they've found their Dr. Niles Caulder, a.k.a. The Chief, in former James Bond star Timothy Dalton (Chuck; Penny Dreadful)!

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Timothy Dalton has been cast in the series regular role of Dr. Niles Caulder, a.k.a. The Chief, in the DC Universe's upcoming Doom Patrol series. His leading role is being described as "a pioneer in medical science, searching the world over for those on the edge of death in need of a miracle. Brilliant but controversial, Dr. Caulder will stop at nothing to help those he believes are in need, including his collection of strange heroes known as the Doom Patrol."

He joins an ensemble cast that features Brendan Fraser (Robotman), Dwain Murphy (Negative Man), April Bowlby (
Elasti-Woman), Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane), Joivan Wade (Cyborg), and Alan Tudyk (Mr. Nobody).

While the DC Universe streaming service will launch later this month, followed by the series premiere of Titans in mid-October, Doom Patrol has been slated to premiere in 2019 with a 13-episode freshman run.

Dalton is, of course, best known for portraying 007 James Bond in The Living Daylights and License to Kill. His past television credits include, but are not limited to, Chuck and Penny Dreadful

Huh...

So this is a spin-off of Titans but...somehow they managed to get awesome actors, but not for the "mother" series? That's strange.

I am starting to believe there could be a deliberate purpose in the casting of The Chief for Titans that will later explain why now we’ll have Timothy Dalton as Caulder and not the former actor. A fake to lure the Titans? (Or Raven?)

I believe they didn’t react Robotman they only added Brendan Fraser as the voice actor for Cliff.

Pretty excited. Now we just need to see if they ever cast Mento.

The last Bond movie I watched starred Timothy Dalton. I never bothered after that.

I am currently reading my Doom Patrol Omnibus by Grant Morrison. Not the easiest book to read to be honest, its f*cking weird, complicated story that can be hard to follow and the book is heavy.

But I am enjoying it and glad that I own it.

And this is how far I have read up to.
