The SUPERNATURAL Crossover In LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Has Been In The Works Longer Than Expected

We never got the Arrow/Supernatural crossover the #SPNFamily spent years campaigning for, but a recently postponed episode of Legends of Tomorrow features a surprising nod to its fellow series on The CW!

This Tuesday's episode of Legends of Tomorrow was supposed to feature a hat tip to Supernatural as the gang was going to come across Baby, Sam and Dean Winchester's iconic 1967 Chevy Impala.

Unfortunately, the now delayed "Zari, Not Zari," won't feature the brothers making a physical appearance!

"The [Supernatural] producers were incredibly gracious and enthusiastic about this tip of the hat, however," Legends showrunner Phil Klemmer tells Entertainment Weekly. "They even let us borrow some of their musical score--listen closely! Sam and Dean did not make the final cut, unfortunately. Or rather they were busy working on their own show."

For years, there was a very vocal outcry for an Arrow/Supernatural crossover, with the hunky casts of both shows supporting that. It never happened, though, and Supernatural has been on the air for so long, similar demands were made when Smallville was still airing on a weekly basis!

Talking of that Superman TV series, Jackson Stewart, a former production assistant on Supernatural, told the site that ideas were thrown around for a fun sounding crossover between the shows.

"There was a lot of really cool ideas that some of the writers had," he explained. "They had an episode where they really wanted to do a Superman curse that was about every actor who plays Superman ends up getting killed. So they find out that Tom Welling from 'Smallville' is next and have to save him. I thought that was one of the funniest ideas that I’d heard."

The Impala's appearance in Legends of Tomorrow is as good as it's going to get for now, and with Supernatural reaching its end, we'll probably never see Sam and Dean in the Arrowverse! On the plus side, this episode of Legends does go some way in confirming that they're part of the DC TV world.

If the episode is finished, I don't know why it is being delayed, because with everyone staying home, more people than normal would have watched this episode of Legends.

I really with that Superman curse episode happened. Don't even watch the show but that sounds hilarious.
