According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW has now picked up Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas' adaptation of DC/Vertigo series iZombie to pilot. According to the official description, it's a "supernatural crime procedural that centers on a medical student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the Coroner's Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. However, with every brain she eats, she inherits the corpse's memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head." Thomas and Veronica Mars' Diane Ruggiero is set to pen the script and will also executive produce.

Also going to pilot is Supernatural: Tribes, a spin-off which "will explore the clashing hunter and monster cultures of Chicago." This series comes from Supernatural writer Andrew Dabb, who will executive produce alongside Eric Kripke, Robert Singer, showrunner Jeremy Carver and McG. Singer will direct the Warner Bros. Television entry. Predictably, The Flasg has also been given the green light for a pilot episode. Nothing much was revealed in the logline, but it does say that "Grant Gustin stars as scientist Barry Allen and is given the power of super-speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive." Arrow's Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and DC's Geoff Johns will pen the script and executive produce alongside David Nutter, who will direct the pilot.
