In an interview with Total Film magazine the Watchmen cast gave their favorite comicbook movies..you wont believe what Jeffrey Dean Morgan says about Dark Knight!

Patrick Wilson – Night Owl:
Lord almighty. Christopher Reeve. That’s hard to beat, right there. He really, masterfully, had such humour. I think humour is one of the most important aspects. That being said, this summer was phenomenal. I really dug all three of the big ones: Iron Man, The Dark Knight and The Incredible Hulk."

Jackie Earl Haley – Rorschach:"Getting involved in this film has made me much more aware of the comic-book movie world.

I thought The Dark Knight was kick-ass. Iron Man was awesome. But you know, a lot of the time too, if they’re too juvenile I start to lose interest. I thought The Dark Knight was just so well done, more thought provoking, more adult.

And Iron Man, gosh, they just did a really good job of that. That was some really entertaining storytelling, great humour. And it dealt with some more adult themes. I don’t think it’s as sophisticated as The Dark Knight or as thought provoking as this one."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan – The Comedian:"I’m not a big comic-book movie fan, to be honest with you.

I just saw The Dark Knight on the plane the other day and I really liked it. On the plane, I know. Is that bad? But I just haven’t had time to see movies. I did go and see a movie the other day, but I saw... Christ... Slumdog Millionaire. That was my choice to go see. And I loved it! It was an awesome movie. So that’s my taste towards films. The Dark Knight, yeah, it was a plane movie for me."

Matthew Goode – Ozymandias:Favourite comic-book movie... [frick]ing hell. Er... Er-er-er. I don’t know if I have one.

I did think that Heath was blinding as The Joker. Such a [frick]ing shame. So I really quite enjoyed The Dark Knight. Superman back in the day, mainly because Marlon got paid the most outrageous amount of money for doing [frick] all."

Billy Crudup – Dr Manhattan:"Um... I don’t have a favourite comic-book movie. No, I don’t. Watchmen? Sell, sell, sell!"

So there you have it. Im sure youl agree Billy Crudup gives the most in depth answer! And that Mathew Goode needs to wash his mouth out with soap!!

That's funny....Alexander the Great with Tourrettes.
FDR with leprosy.
Chinggis Khan with a tumor.

HA

But seriously, as more comic movies are taken seriously, as Watchmen, hopefully, will be. In a few years we should see more actors name these movies as good flics. But, then who really cares what an actor thinks?

Not so surprising with there comments. But I have one, If you don't already know--the Screen Actors Guild Society is on the verge of a strike as of 2 jan 09. Its Mel Gibson side versus George Clooney side. More info to come.

Screw the SAG. Any group that would strike in the middle of recession is so full of shit, it has to be coming out of their ears.

Wow, for some reason I didn't know Patrick Wilson was Night Owl...I don't think i'll be able to take him seriously now. He was such a pansy in The Phantom of the Opera, and that's all i've seen him in.

I'm not going all out for the Watchmen movie simply because I didn't have an interest in the comics before, and I don't wanna be one of those new generation, movie-version fans. They always annoyed me in every other fandom. It's a shame, but Watchmen has enough dedicated fans to show their support, and I don't want to frantically try to get up to date on the whole story continuity, legal battle, etc and race to the theaters calling myself a fan. If it's a great as everyone says it is, it deserves better. :)

Sadly, it's the same with all the Frank Miller stuff coming out. I honestly didn't care for his graphic novels. The dialogue was choppy and repetitive at the beginning and end of each issue, the stories were dark (which the fans really dig, I know, but I don't really) and his artwork doesn't really appeal to me. I know a lot of hardcore FM fans, and I can see why they like his stuff, it just doesn't interest me personally.

I think i'm just too much of a happy, fluffy butterflies-and-flowers sort of person to be into Alan Moore and Frank Miller, lol! But I appreciate the attention Watchmen and The Spirit are getting in the cinema world, and hope they pave the way for more comic book movies!

thank you superflyinpwrs..now vote notyetamovie! lol..but seriously...do! ion you crafty minx! im going to advertise on your fansite every chance i get now!

quicksilverfox i actually agree with you about frank miller to some extent..the dark knight returns is a masterpiece and is pierless imo..but alot of his other work is highly overated ..for example, the dark knight strikes again is actually rubbish, you would think those two books wer written by different people.

Alan moore however is a different kettle of fish..he really is a genius..Watchmen, LOEG, Swamp thing, the killing joke..AMAZING.

I agree, Swamp Thing is pretty much awesome, haha. Though i'm not well-versed in the storyline....but anything called Swamp-Thing has got to be good!
