Another batch of hi-res promo art from I Am Groot has been revealed, this time offering a closer look at the adorable sentient tree, and we're betting you never expected to see him rock a "Good Hair Day."

What If...? was Marvel Studios' first animated TV series, and, for the most part, it received a positive response from fans and critics alike. More are on the way, including Marvel ZombiesSpider-Man: Freshman Year, and I Am Groot. The latter will follow Baby Groot on a series of adventures, though the expectation is that it will feature photorealistic animation more akin to regular VFX than a cartoon.

It's also believed that I Am Groot will be a series of shorts (similar to something like Olaf Presents or Forky Asks a Question) rather than a full-blown TV show, but we're definitely intrigued to see more. We're anticipating a 2022 premiere, hence why promo art like this has started showing up.

As you can see, it appears Baby Groot will be shaking up his appearance with "hair," though we're guessing this will probably be for just the one episode rather than the entire series. Either way, he now looks cuter than ever, and changing up the Guardians' look is a clever way to sell more toys!

A July premiere is the current rumour for I Am Groot, placing it right between Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk. It goes without saying that Baby Groot stole the show in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and with him being aged up to a teenager in the recent Avengers movies, it will be fun to revisit his childhood.

This feels like it won't have any major ramifications into the wider MCU and it will be just some fun episodes with Groot, which I don't mind. Actually wouldn't mind if once in a while Marvel wore to release shows or movies that were very standalone (even though I do love the connectivety aspect of the MCU). Not everything needs to connect with something to be a part of the same universe and Moon Knight showed that pretty well.

@Urubrodi - like Pixar shorts? Cool. I'd like to see both comedic and dramatic versions.
