The third and final season of Legion is set to premiere on June 24, and FX has now released an extended featurette which includes some intriguing new footage and interviews with the cast.

We see that David (Dan Stevens), who now fancies himself as some type of cult leader, enlists the help of a mutant names Switch (newcomer Lauren Tsai) so he can use her time-travel abilities in an attempt to go back and right the wrongs of his past.

Though we don't see him here, this most likely opens the door for the introduction of the younger Charles Xavier (Harry Lloyd).

Check out the featurette below along with some stunning new character banners and posters, and let us know if you're looking forward to the return of Legion in the comments.

@tmp3 - I like it. May i counter with some of my own?
-Miles Teller for Riddler (just rewatched Whiplash where he was very meticulous about everything)
-Rory McCain for an older firefly(only cause of the fire stuff in Thrones)
-Sofia Boutella for Catwoman(needs to be redeemed for The Mummy but to be fair its stunt casting)
-and lastly (cause I cant think of anyone else...plus I thought it be funny) the guy who plays Jerry from Parks and Rec for Penguin.
Yes I didn't take my list too seriously but I'm sure one of my four is spot on lol

@MrCamw1 - I [frick]ing love Whiplash (second favorite film of the decade), and Teller was great in it. I'm sure he could be a good Riddler, but the second someone suggested Hoult for the part I can't unsee it. Especially after his work in Mad Max/The Favourite. The other casting choices look solid, and I'd still take Jerry over Josh Gad.

Has it be confirmed how many episodes the 3rd season has?

Season 1 was my favourite thing since Game of Thrones, I [frick]ing loved it, so creative, such a unique and cool aesthetic. I liked parts of season 2 but I think the show tends to play around with big themes and ideas rather than exploring them properly, it just dips its toe in and [frick]s around a bit. It opens with these great ideas and concepts but doesn’t have a good enough plot to back them up or see them through. Like the Jon Hamm narations about delusion, those were fantastic and so enthralling and captivating and I couldn’t wait to see what the big plot twist of what they all meant was... and it was a big chicken goo monster and a quick episode about everyone getting brainwashed to kill baskethead, who we didnt really give a [frick] about anyway.

That said, LOVED the guy they got to play the shadow king, and loved more of Oliver. But again, they didn’t have the plot to back up what they promised with him. Like his comment about ‘what does 1+1 equal?’ Made it seem they were foreshadowing him outwitting the SK and getting his moment- but it went nowhere.

Hope season 3 has a better plot. Much as I adore the imagery and strangeness, its just meaningless [frick]ing about without a good story behind it.
