Legion's supremely creepy monster, the Devil with Yellow Eyes (later revealed as the villainous Shadow King), provided a dash of horror to the first season of the FX series.  The character's disturbing, obese appearance, coupled with its propensity to appear at unexpected moments, lent a feeling of unease to both the characters and audience alike.

Now, a new featurette from the network has provided a behind-the-scenes look as to how the devil's creepy visage was created for the show. With the villain (played by Aubrey Plaza) finding a new host in Oliver Bird (Jemaine Clement) at the end of the season, odds are we haven't seen the last of this sinister form! Check out the video below and let us know what you think!

Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. Now in his early 20's and free once again, David loses himself in the rhythm of the structured regimen of daily life: breakfast, lunch, dinner, therapy, medications, sleep. David spends the rest of his time in companionable silence alongside his chatterbox friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza), a fellow patient whose life-long drug and alcohol addiction has done nothing to quell her boundless optimism that her luck is about to change. The pleasant numbness of David's routine is completely upended with the arrival of a beautiful and troubled new patient named Syd (Rachel Keller). Inexplicably drawn to one another, David and Syd share a startling encounter, after which David must confront the shocking possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees may actually be real.

I looked at that pizza in my freezer. I looked at it real hard and real long. But then I remembered what it was like to have abs. So I had a sardine sandwich instead.

My life goal is to not get cryogenically frozen forever looking like this fat ugly [frick] on Legion and today, I staved off that fate by some fraction of a percent.

I'm disappointed that it took me so long to realize who "the Devil" was. He's actually pretty similar to the way he looked in the comics.

@Spock0Clock - Yes when that character was introduced, i should have known. What did you think of the finale? It was really anticlimatic.

@KiranSolus - I'd thought the show had been sliding before that, so I wasn't all miffed at the finale. Still a good show and up there with Daredevil and Jessica Jones as best superhero-related CBTV shows, and I overall like where the show is going (as long as David is still sick without Farouk inside him, since I think it's too tidy otherwise).

I'm really looking forward to Clement letting loose in a second season, too.

Is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau too old to start playing Geralt if they began a Witcher series in the next year or so?

I feel like he's too old, but I also don't really care...?

Also, it'd be nice to hear him use his natural Danish accent as a way to distinguish Rivia from basically everywhere else.
