Stunning LEGION Key Art And Character Portraits Released Ahead Of The X-MEN Spinoff's Second Season
As we prepare for the no-doubt bonkers sophomore season of Legion, FX has debuted some gorgeous new character portraits and a promo poster featuring David Haller and his star-crossed love, Sydney Barrett.
The first season of FX's superb X-Men spin-off show, Legion, was one of the most visually inventive TV series to come along in quite some time, and based on everything we've seen so far, the upcoming second season will be no different.
As the April 3 premiere date approaches, marketing has kicked into high gear, and following yesterday's full-length trailer we have a batch of stunning character portraits featuring several familiar faces.

Jean Smart As Melanie Bird
Towards the end of season 1, Melanie (Jean Smart) seemed to be in a good place after being reunited with her long-lost husband (Jemaine Clement).
Okay, so Oliver had no idea who she was at first, but he seemed to be coming around before disaster struck and he was taken over by The Shadow King.
We're not sure exactly how this will affect Melanie in season 2, but if this shot is any indication, she won't be coping very well!
Hamish Linklater As Clark
Thought to have been killed during the events of the pilot episode, the Division 3 interrogator known only as Clark (Hamish Linklater) returned towards the end of the season seeking revenge against David for hideously scarring his face.
However, after realizing that The Shadow King was the far greater threat, Clark wound up joining forces with the mutants in an effort to stop the demonic creature once and for all.
Bill Irwin As Cary Loudermilk
Like Melanie, Cary (Bill Irwin) found himself estranged from his significant other at the end of season 1... although his significant other just so happens to be a young Native American girl he shares a body with.
Will Kerry (Amber Midthunder) find it in her heart to forgive her best friend so that they can once again use their unique powers to aid David? We'll find out very soon.
Aubrey Plaza As Lenny Busker
We initially thought that The Shadow King was only posing as Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) as a means to manipulate David, but even after the villain's plan was exposed he stayed in that form.
We know that season 2 will introduce a new actor as Amahl Farouk, but Lenny is also returning, so it remains to be seen how that dynamic will work.
Perhaps Lenny is now solely in control of Oliver's mind?
Rachel Keller As Sydney Barrett And Dan Stevens As David Haller
Finally, we have this really lovely key art featuring main characters David (Dan Stevens) and Sydney (Rachel Keller).
These guys did figure out a way to be intimate (well, kinda) with one another in season 1, but now that The Shadow King won't be facilitating their physic connection, they may have to figure something else out.
Tell us, are you looking forward to Legion season 2? What do you think of these images? Let us know in the usual place.
