Michael Waldron served as "Head Writer" (which is essentially the same as showrunner) for season 1 of Loki and was later enlisted by Marvel Studios to write both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Avengers: Secret Wars.
That's left Eric Martin to take charge of season 2, though as he previously penned standout episodes "The Nexus Event" and "For All Time. Always," that's certainly not a bad thing.
Waldron will still serve as an executive producer on the series and The Cosmic Circus has now revealed that Marvel Studios newcomer Rachel Sydney Alter (Outer Banks) has boarded Loki as producer. She previously worked with Waldron on his pro wrestling series Heels.
Katharyn Blair, meanwhile, has been tapped as Executive Story Editor with Loki her only credited project at this stage in her career (she co-wrote the fourth and sixth instalments of the show's first season alongside Martin). Blair is a novelist who has penned The Beckoning Shadow and Unchosen.
Brett Maline (Hypocrite) has also joined the writing team alongside Marvel Studios veteran Kasra Farahani. He's served as an Art Director on everything from Thor to Captain Marvel and was Loki season 1's Production Designer. He's previously created concept art for Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
Very little has been revealed about what's in store for us when Loki returns; however, we know the God of Mischief will be tracking down Kang the Conqueror Variants, including Victor Timely (who was first introduced at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania).
The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Tara Strong, Eugene Cordero, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, and Jonathan Majors. Ke Huy Quan, Rafael Casal, and Kate Dickie have all been cast in undisclosed roles.
Wilson is rumoured to reprise his role as Mobius in Deadpool 3, though that's yet to be confirmed.
Loki will return to Disney+ on October 6.
