WANDAVISION Guest Star May Have Known About MCU Debut Back In 2019 Based On Resurfaced Interview - SPOILERS

Friday's episode of WandaVision featured a huge guest star, & a resurfaced interview may indicate that they knew it was coming for a lot longer than you might think. This is a fun one, so check it out!

When Dark Phoenix was released in June 2019, the cast knew it was the end of the line for this iteration of the franchise (and that they'd starred in an absolute stinker). Unfortunately, they had to do the rounds to promote the movie, and a resurfaced interview with Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Evan Peters has been generating quite a bit of attention online over the past few days.

Asked whether they'd heard anything about possibly reprising their roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sheridan and Shipp give the expected answers. Peters, meanwhile, stays absolutely silent.

He obviously played the "recast" Pietro in last Friday's episode of WandaVision, and chances are he was already in talks with Marvel Studios at this stage. Remember, the Disney+ series actually started shooting in November 2019, so Peters had no doubt already spoken to Kevin Feige and company about possibly coming on board.

Awkward, eh?

It can't have been easy watching his Dark Phoenix co-stars forced to tackle questions about the MCU knowing he was being lined up to return as Pietro, and even if that wasn't the case, it makes for a fun watch! Still, as this interview took place just five months before cameras started rolling on WandaVision, we find it hard to believe he hadn't already been approached about Quicksilver!

Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Apologies for the dumb, vague headline, but can't be dealing with whining about "spoilers" four days after the episode aired, and 24 hours after Marvel shared an interview ABOUT Evan Peters on social media and their website. 🙄

@JoshWilding

Gotta say I’m kind of with you on this. Shit, back when GOT was week to week and I wasn’t watching right at 9, I would stay the [frick] off Twitter or CBM or wherever else I might get it spoiled. Same with Breaking Bad and everything else.

They’re literally like 20 minute episodes too. Haha just stay off the website until you watch it.

They’re all actors it’s their job to convince you they are telling the truth after all.

On a scale of napalm to nuclear, how mad is Alexandra Shipp?

I hope Marvel brings Fassbender back as Magneto in WandaVision.

@IcePyke -

Anything is possible with the multiverse. Fassbender was a great Magneto.

I'd be fine with Fassbender or Ian McKellen. Both were spot on.

They've had this planned out before the purchase even happened. Feige probably had a multitude of ideas on the back burner for if he ever got the rights to these properties back. I just wish it wasn't using the same [frick]ing actors from the old Fox and Sony franchises.

Yeah, Evan Peters had to definitely know while doing Dark Phoenix press. The show began shooting less than 6 months after these interviews. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reported they had read many of the scripts by summer 2019. I'm sure Evan Peters playing a 'brother, Pietro' had been approached to the actor by then.

Ha. That is the "all I could do is talk myself out of the job" face you make at a third job interview when you've already been told you're getting the job.

Looks like the door was atleast already slightly open for him.

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sold on the connection here. He could have just been courteous and allow Ty to steal the answer since he was obviously going to take it. I see more of Ty pleading to keep the role more than Evans declining to answer? "Whether its a movie, a TV show, a voice over, a cameo, or anything, really..." Kind of a stretch, but I can also see where the connection was made.
