Marvel’s Victoria Alonso Promises More Animated Series & "Mini Studio" On The Way After WHAT IF...?

Disney+ recently debuted the full trailer for What If...? while confirming that the series will hit the streamer next month, but it sounds like the Multiverse-spanning adventure is just the first of a planned series of animated shows.

While speaking to Variety at this year’s NALIP Media Summit, executive VP of film production at Marvel Studios Victoria Alonso teased "a few other shows," and revealed that a "mini studio" is also on the horizon.

“We have so much coming your way that you might tell us, ‘Okay, take a break now!'” Alonso began. “We’re going to have our animation branch and mini studio, and there will be more to come from that as well. We’re super excited about animation, which is my first love.”

What will these shows focus on? Alonso didn't offer any hints, but rumors of a new Deadpool animated series have bee doing the rounds, so that's one possibility.

Alonso also touched on Marvel's commitment to introducing more diversity and representation to the MCU following her recent comments about Loki being confirmed as bisexual and gender fluid.

“I think it’s important to consistently listen to what fans are saying,” she said. “If there’s a vast majority that feels that something is not hitting home, then we need to look at it, but then there’s times where we say, ‘You know what, this is a story we’re gonna tell.' There’s something really magical about being seen. When you are being seen, the shame drips down like there’s no tomorrow. There’s a layer of shame that goes away, there’s a layer of ‘I don’t belong, I don’t deserve it, I am not worthy’ that goes away.”

What do you guys think? Any idea what these other animated shows might be? Let us know in the usual spot.
