WHAT IF...? TV Spot Reveals Party Thor Teaming Up With An Unexpected Ally From Another Alternate Reality

With What If...? right around the corner, Marvel Studios has shared another TV spot for the Disney+ series featuring lots of new footage, including some intriguing shots of Chris Hemsworth's Party Thor.

While it appears each episode of What If...? will be standalone in nature, there's more evidence in this TV spot that the characters we meet along the way are going to cross paths eventually.

There are some great shots of Party Thor in action, but it's this Variant God of Thunder standing alongside the Doctor Strange Supreme that intrigues us most. Of course, we later see what appears to be a new team of Avengers, with Captain Carter, Gamora, Star-Lord (T'Challa), Erik Killmonger, and Party Thor all assembled alongside each other in a desolate New York City.

Something is going to happen that brings these characters together, but we still don't know what threat could be great enough to assemble the heroes in this alternate version of the MCU.

"'What If…?' flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways," teases the brief synopsis for Marvel Studios' first animated TV series.

"Coming to Disney+ in summer 2021, Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU," it continues, "featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. The series is directed by Bryan Andrews; Ashley Bradley is head writer."
