Neil Gaiman Rules Out The Possibility of Showrunning Season 2 Of AMERICAN GODS

Following the departure of the showrunners from season 1 of the hit Starz show, the search for a replacement has been on. Now, comments from Neil Gaiman himself confirm he won't be filling the role.

There has been some turmoil surrounding season 2 of American Gods, following the departure of showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. Problems which were followed up by the departure of Gillian Anderson (X-Files).  Despite these problems, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht did inspire some hope that the showrunner position may be close to filled, when he said comic book legend Neil Gaiman would be "moving forward into a more traditional showrunner function." However, now Gaiman himself has commented on this statement, clarifying his role in the production of season 2.

In his Twitter statement, Gaiman says he will not be acting as showrunner because if his commitments to the show Good Omens. Furthermore, he adds that he will, however, "work really closely" with whoever is chosen for the position as he did for season 1.
