VENOM Behind The Scenes Video Reveals Awkward CGI Symbiote Battle Between Tom Hardy And Riz Ahmed

Venom star Tom Hardy has shared a behind the scenes video from the set of the Marvel movie revealing just how weird it was for Venom and Riot to battle minus the CGI which brought their symbiotes to life!

Venom was released to mixed reviews in 2018, but a lot of fans had a good time with the movie, and that can mostly be credited to Tom Hardy's gloriously OTT performance. Unfortunately, the talented Riz Ahmed didn't bring as much to the table as expected, so Riot was a largely forgettable villain in Ruben Fleischer's take on the Marvel Comics property.

The final battle was still a blast, however, but it must also have been an odd experience to shoot as is evident from a new behind the scenes video which has been shared on Instagram by Hardy.

In that, he and Ahmed embark on what almost looks like a dance number as they act out Eddie Brock and Carlson Drake's movements before the Venom and Riot symbiotes were added with VFX. It makes for interesting viewing, and not just because of how strange it is.

A fair bit of work was clearly put into Venom's final battle, and we can definitely appreciate that.

Pretty funny. That said, dreadfully idiotic movie.

You know I kinda liked the texture and fluidity of the symbiote in Spider-Man 3 better. In venom it feels too much like a liquid and looks too fake.

@Fares - Complete opposite for me. The way Venom looked, moved, and even sounded was strangely soothing for me in his solo.

@KWilly - Interesting. I hope they can hit a middle ground in the next one.

Don't understand how anyone can say they liked this film. But that's just me.

I thought they had to wear those weird tennis ball covered pajamas for CG scenes

Huh, booting up the final fight scene and Eric Carmen's Hungry Eyes really makes for a much more enjoyable time.

I liked this movie, it was enjoyable. Was it the greatest movie ever? Nah. Did I need it to be? No.
