Fans still seem to be divided on Sony's upcoming Venom movie, but the footage that screened at San Diego Comic-Con reportedly went down very well and succeeded in building some more hype for the Spidey spinoff.

Unfortunately, that trailer was never released online but it looks like we will get the chance to check it out before too long.

Trailer Track reports that the final trailer has now been classified and will run 2 minutes and 31 seconds. There were rumors that it could screen with Mission: Impossible - Fallout this weekend, but that's now been debunked. However, it is expected to be online at some point over the next few weeks.

We realize that's not exactly narrowing it down, but hopefully we'll be able to give you guys a better idea of when to look out for it soon.

Hopefully we get green and red band.

@TheMadman - Probably won't get a red band since it won't be R Rated. I would bet money on it.

@Darkknight2149 - that hasn’t been verified and the movie has yet to get an official rating

@TinyTinyMan - If heads are being bitten off wouldn't that mean R rating?

(I'm actually asking, not being facetious)

@Tonic24k - At SDCC the description said venom bites people's heads off and rips their arms apart but it had quick edits to cut away from the gory scenes. The director and tom hardy intended the movie to be r-rated but Sony has not decided whether to cater to fans or to a wider audience. Simarily James Mangolds "The Wolverine" was pg-13 in theaters then the "extended r-rated ver was only on blu-ray/dvd". I think the same may happen because money is top priority for Sony.

I prefer R-Rated, but R-Rated films have a hard time selling to China and overseas audiences as their governments are less lenient.

@mastakilla39 - Yeah the R rated details I know about. But good clarification on the SDCC description! Thanks!

@JoJo1982 - So who sets up the CBM.com betting pool?

I've got 50 down for it being R.

It’s simple.

Hyped/Excited = Venom Fan
Negative/Upset = MCU Spidey Fan

So simple.

@IronGenesis - Ehhh...I'm a MCU guy, but I also like Tom Hardy and think this looks...fine? I'm going to go see it.

Who doesn't wish Spidey was involved, though?
