For a Facebook game, I should say...wow. I've never seen any Facebook game that looks as good as that; though this one's just decent.

Badbear, you realize how much money Facebook games make? They destroy big gaming companies like EA. It's a smart move on Marvel.

Stumblin, more than EA? I guess you're talkin out of your ass. EA alone had almost 3.6 billion bucks revenue in 2011, versus about 1.5 billion from all of the FB games together.

Didn't know it was going to be an RPG. Should have made it using 16-bit art. It wouldn't have made it look cheap.

Aklash, nope, not talking out of my ass. It was in an article in Game Informer, though I can't find it online. I may not be correct saying they made more than EA, however, small simple games like Farmville are able to generate over $11 million in a year. Not bad for something that doesn't need much advertising or man power.

You can't deny it's a great way to generate money because people are dumb and buy dumb shit.

@Stumblin, sorry if I sounded rude, re-reading it it seems so. But really, not more than EA.

FB games really grow a lot, about 50% each year (1 billion in 2010, 1,5 bi in 2011). It's projected to 5 bi in 2015.

But the gaming industry is also growing up in general, since 2010 the revenues surpass Hollywood.

Aklash and stumblin - the world of gaming is going more mobile and Facebook the small games that make people pay to get the extra stuff make a crap load of money... Ea can have a few big hits but then the also have quite a few flops they are looking for a way to make money the same way they do on Facebook games... They actually started to make games for Facebook to make some cash... A lot of people were laid off from the bigger companies

@thegreek - Agreed. Aaand complementary to that, also now even "hardcore games" have checkpoints and other forms of "casualising" the games for quick playing, even on consoles.

I wouldn't mind if that was just it, but they also treat the player as dumb with stupid on-game tutorials and shit, on trying to bring EVERYONE to EVERY kind of game, for profit-sake.

And now that I think about it, that's the same kind of phenomena that's been happening on hollywood. The movies today are so carefully explanatory that they're even getting repetitive (I've watched the new apes movie and felt that when I saw the guy coughing. I knew what was about to happen because NO ONE coughs anymore).

If you enjoy the gaming design matter take a look at this video, it's a nice piece of game design analysis, and talks a bit also on how today's companies treat us like idiots.

Where's Ghost Rider? Deadpool? Wonder Man? Beast? Blade? Daredevil? Moon Knight? Luke Cage? Iron Fist? Namor?

The best thing about Marvel Universe is its large amount of relevant characters.

Aklash - I completely agree and no worries about the bold ... :)

I only know this because i was in a game design masters program recently and my professor knew alot of the insider stuff ... And the when she spoke about the buying of coins and etc... Made perfect sense .. She would tell us at one of the conventions the big gaming compaines are looking for games that would make them money as people are playing them.. It is all about profit no real substance ... Farmville has no substance it is all about profit
