Halo star Pablo Schreiber has thrown his hat in the ring to play Wolverine.
The Canadian actor, whose brother Liev Schreiber played Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is a long-time Logan fan, and expressed his interest in suiting-up as the mutant berserker while chatting to The Playlist.
“Oh goodness, yeah. Well, we’ve flirted with that one for a while," said Schreiber when asked about being fan-cast as the character in the past. "That would be fantastic and would certainly be a dream casting. He’s actually my favorite hero from a child. He was always my favorite comic book, so yeah. I’ve had a long, long flirtation with that guy.”
As it turns out, the American Gods actor has had several meetings with Marvel Studios in the past, but declined to mention which roles he may have been in contention for. “I’ve had a bunch of discussions with Marvel at certain points in my career. We’ve never been able to find the right thing at the right time, but I’d certainly be open to that.”
Schreiber certainly looks the part, but at 6'4, he's actually an inch taller than previous Wolvie actor Hugh Jackman, who was frequently criticized for being too tall to play the diminutive hero by comic book fans. If and when the character is recast for his MCU debut, we wouldn't be surprised if the actor's height proved to be a sticking point for long-time X-Men fan Kevin Feige.
What do you guys think? Would Schreiber be your pick to play Wolverine in the planned reboot? If not, who would? Drop us a comment down below.
