CYBERPUNK 2077 Has Been Delayed Again But Remains On Track For A 2020 Release

Cyberpunk 2077 has already been hit by a series of delays in 2020 (and a few years before that), but it's now slipped from it's planned November release date. Find out more details after the jump...

Earlier this month, it was reported that CD Projekt Red had instituted a mandatory six-day work week in order to get Cyberpunk 2077 finished in time for its November release date. It was clear they were determined to get it done in time for Christmas, and while staff members were being paid, the news came after they previously vowed that there would be no crunch period on the game.

Unfortunately, it's now been confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer be released on November 19th as planned. Instead, it will hit stores on December 10th, and we can only hope for no further delays.

"The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test 9 versions of it," reads the message below. "Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly."

"We're aware that it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do," they added.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and world around you.

@NinnesMBC - Yeah when CDPR or R* delay shit, you know it's for a good reason.

When EA & SquareEnix do it, it's to make it a "Game with service" God Avengers sucked!

Why is this game, among others, racing to release on *current* gen when the next gen is literally a little more than 2 weeks away?? Especially Marvel’s Avengers which 100% would’ve benefited from even a slight delay. Why not try to achieve current and next gen, like Miles Morales?

They might as well release it in 2077 at this point.

@RevanOfKrypton - I s stockpiled about 15 games I'm supposed to get into over the next few months and I can honestly say that replaying Witcher 3 would feel like a better use of my time

This game isn’t releasing in 2020 and at this point that’s a good thing...No way it’s going to be complete when it does eventually release anyway...What they need to do is just say it’s not ready and stop putting a hard release date on the game...
