VIDEO GAMES: It Looks Like Rumors About A Damien Wayne Led BATMAN Title Were Correct After All

Earlier this year, a rumour surfaced which claimed that a new Batman game was in the works from WB Montreal (the makers of the divisive Batman: Arkham Origins) which would put the spotlight on Damian Wayne, the Caped Crusader's son who currently serves as Robin in the comic books. It was then back in September than another report popped up which said that the game would be set a decade in the future with an older, broken Bruce Wayne who mentors Damian alongside Nightwing.

At the same time, a Borderlands style Suicide Squad game was also said to be in the works for release next year, and as great as all of this sounded, we've yet to hear anything official about either of them.

Whether or not they'll happen remains to be seen, but now a new video has popped up which appears to show WB Montreal employees working on an open world game starring Batman. That has since been deleted, something which you wouldn't imagine would be the case if it was just old footage from Arkham Origins. So, if nothing else, we may have semi-confirmation that a new Batman title is coming!

There are a few different events in December where this title could be announced, but a Damian Wayne led game with a totally original story definitely sounds interesting. What do you guys think?

I'm still waiting on a Superman game. Or Wonder Woman, or even another Justice League type that plays like Ultimate Alliance.
Enough Batman already, jesus...

@BritishMonkey - At this point, I'd even take a Justice League game that plays like Marvel Puzzle Quest...

@BritishMonkey - if we get a suicide squad game instead of a justice league game I am straight up going to stop buying DC comics.

Also rocksteady is losing their touch, this game will probably have some dumb gimmick that they put in every single mission, like the bat-tank.

Also rocksteady SUUUUUCKS at storytelling.

@ALostCause - Or 5000 obnoxious collectibles and VR missions increasing the game's length by an artificial 200% :)

@ALostCause - Why stop buying DC comics?

I guess it's a symbolic protest, if ineffectual. Anyway, you can always read most of the Rebirth titles online for free - that's what I've been doing lately. I'm somewhat ashamed, but I probably wouldn't buy them anyway, so nobody is really losing anything.

@teefurtree - im all about synergy, which is something some people don't quite get and i understand that. so im just gonna share my strange point of view for everyone.

i like reading a comic, then watching the movie, and afterwards playing a game with the same character.

if one of the trifecta isn't pulling their weight, or is nonexistent, i can usually get over it.

but dc movies lost me this year, and dc games have done the same.

i can't read dc anymore without getting mad, and that greatly hinders the experience for me. part of why i have fun with the comics, is i picture the movie they might one day become.

now that i don't think dc will ever get their other products as good as the comics, the reading material loses an incredible amount of punch for me.

meanwhile im loving marvel comics (i haven't passed 2011), marvel movies are pretty good, and im hopelessly addicted to marvel heroes 2016.

just a few weeks ago i read doctor strange, saw the movie, and then spent days playing as him in an online mmo. that is max entertainment for me, and when i can't get that, i get pissy.
