Details On Audition Scenes For The CW's AMAZON Surface

Details regarding the scenes being used to "screen test" actors and actresses for The CW's Amazon have surfaced, revealing another character important to the Wonder Woman origin mythology, which you can read after the jump!

Thanks to the ever reliable Craig Byrne over at WonderWomanTV, we have learned that the two scenes being used to screen test lead actors may involve Diana's love interest, Steve Trevor crashing on to Themyscira, who is then taken captive by Diana for interrogation. Not bad, right? The second scene being used has Diana and Steve possibly going on a date, most likely to test the chemistry between the two leads. Check out WWTV's descriptions below.

Steve Trevor has landed, and his hands and feet are cuffed by a chair as Diana tries to figure out his intentions. She notices he has a weapon, and accuses him of being a terrorist, or even a diversion or harbinger of an invasion of men.

Diana and Steve are at a diner, we assume in Man’s World, and are a lot more friendly. There, Diana has her first taste of ice cream, in a very cute sequence.

Obviously it should go without saying that these scenes may end up never being filmed as The CW has yet to greenlight Amazon. The scenes may also not be selected from the pilot script, as well.

The Steve Trevor bondage scene ought to be interesting. It's funny, when I was a kid I had no idea how kinky Wonder Woman really is.

Yes. The more I hear about this, the more I want to see it happen. After all, Warner Bros. has demonstrated OVER AND OVER again that they're either unwilling to bring Diana to the big screen, or are just too goddamn incompetent to get the job done-- so if this is the best that we can hope for, SO BE IT.

ANY kind of well done live-action Wonder Woman is preferable to all the false-starts and bullshit that we've been getting on the movie front. If Warner Bros. wants to kill every one of their major superhero franchises all at the same time in a rushed JLA movie, rather than setting up several smaller, well-developed franchises to build up to JLA (and to prove that they know how to do justice to these characters on the big screen), I'll just have to learn to live with it. But if they're going to do that, they've got to give us SOMETHING good on another front-- just to take the sting out of it. And from the sound of it, this might be just what we're looking for.

Come on, Warner Bros. Chris Nolan isn't holding your hands anymore. You've got to prove that you can make these characters work on your own, or you're just going to get steamrolled by the Disney/Marvel juggernaut. Try to do SOMETHING right, for once...

@JerBear, I never understood this thinking. Doesn't it make more sense that a stronger character could carry a TV series, whereas a "weaker" character would have a film?

I mean, a TV series requires a character and his/her supporting cast to be interesting enough and have enough good stories to last multiple episodes over multiple seasons. A film only requires a character to be interesting enough and have enough story to last a 2-hour movie.

WB is a f**king joke how the hell they cant do a Wonder Woman movie. Wonder Woman is rooted in greek myths they spend all their money on shitty Clash of the Titans remake but they cant do a Wonder Woman movie.

Well, this is actually pretty promising. And I'm starting to feel the same way as TheFox, unfortunately WB is too ball less to risk a big budget movie again like with Green Lantern but WW has experienced success on TV before and since the financial lost should be minimum if it fails (again) looks like they're just gonna play it safe for now. And I'm okay with that as long as this actually turns out decent... and please, don't let be anything like Arrow.

@jazzman

THANK YOU!!! I've been thinking the same thing. Wonder Woman has thousands of years of history, gods, monsters, all of the fun parts of Greek mythology available to use and, yet, they just will NOT make the movie. WB fails to properly utilize characters that could expand their cinematic universe and, instead, focus on making and remaking the same two damn characters over and over again. WB has all of the depth of a [frick]ing puddle.

Wonder Woman deserves a movie, not some rubbish Smallville-esque TV show. She's a great character, and it'd be the first instance of a proper female lead in a superhero film.

WB can waste their money making shitty Clash Of The Titans remakes, but they can't make a Wonder Woman film, when it shares similar mythology and just has a better story-line? Wonder Woman should be a really easy film to make, it's like the Clash of the Titans mythology, with Thor's 'fish out of water' themes when she enters the rest of the world, and you could even throw a bit of Lord of the Rings in there for good measure (Diana on a journey to unknown, dangerous lands, with the 'World of Man' being a slightly less sinister version of Mordor).

Man we need a Wonder-Woman movie and a Wonder-Woman animated series.
AC1

@tazmaniak no, it doesn't make more sense your way, because a good movie is infinitely better than a good TV show. A movie is about truly exploring a part of a character's life, while a TV show is episodic - meaning each episode is usually just another random occurrence with relatively weak ties to an overall arc.
Plus, if you think about it in terms of finance, a movie costs a lot more than a TV show, and the possible profits are much larger. So you use the stronger characters for the movies, because you invest more money into them and are far more likely to make money from them, while the weaker characters get a TV show because they're cheaper to make in comparison, and if they fail then they lose less money.

Huh, certain parts of that reminded me of the animated WW movie, which is a great source to be taking cues from.

@Diana That's very cool. It reminds of Clark Kent/Superman getting ready to go meet the city's latest crisis.

wonder woman should have her own movie in stead of a tv show and this is the reason WB sucks!!

Should be an epic big-budget film ala Superman - The Movie, Batman Begins and Man of Steel with Ancient Greek battles, World War II and modern day with Ares as the main antagonist.
Diana@ Gemma Arterton is perfect casting.
It is flat-out insane that WB has not once in over 70 years made a Wonder Woman movie. No Black and White serial, not even a movie based onb the TV show, like Bats and Supes had in the '60s and '50s. Not even in the last decade, which is undeniably the comic-book superhero movie golden age, have we had a Wonder Woman film.
It's unfathomably sick and twisted.

I think WB doesn't want to dig deep into the origins of WW. That's why I think they won't make the movie. Or @zachman201 said. They could be scared ater Green Lantern flopped at the box office last year. Either way, I rather WB make the damn movie already.

While I certainly think that if done right WW could make a good TV series, the character benefits far better with a big budget movie. Also, you cannot compare the Arrow TV series to a Wonder Woman TV series. Firstly, Oliver Queen has no super powers, let alone mythological creatures, monsters, magic and all-powerful gods to contend with. So while Arrow is perfectly alright as a TV series (since it can function in the real world with real physics with human criminals), Wonder Woman needs the big screen treatment to do the character justice.

I will never understand the hesitation to use Wonder Woman in Greek times. Troy made some money, gladiator (Rome I know) made some money. There is a time and place for it. Tone down some of the really carzy god stuff. Make them a little more human and add some fantastic creatures to be punched and it would look pretty cool.
If you cant figure out a story open it up to a crap load of writers and work with the tops ones.

Also so awesome dialog should be in there. Maybe not witty, but when I think of bad to the bone i think, "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next. " Gladiator.

Get an actress that can command screen time for more then her chest. Sarah Conner in T2 was someone not to mess with, Wonder Woman should poses this as well.

i agree artistic! because then people will get a better understanding of who she is, especially if bruce timms behind it! theres so much they can do with this she have enemies like lord hades or felix foust! all WB has to do is follow the comics storyline and make the costumes closer to the real thing not like arrow where it looks like they just took a magic marker and covered his eyes! in the words of johnny storm...come on!!!

Perhaps Warner wants to introduce some of their characters on TV and some in movies, then combine them in a Justice Leage Movie. Not a bad idea if do e right.

I would love to see a wonder woman movie. Zack could simply make it in the tone of 300 but with WOMAN.lol but that would be insane I'd love it. Reasons wb is a bit scared for this to happen cause female heros tend to no do so well in the box office. there are only 3 i can think of resident evil and underworld and tomb raider from long ago. everything else has failed. This in part has made wb scared shitless and like most of you said GL was a sad sad movie at he box office.
Just take some rist wb please good 1s like [frick] a tv show I feel like if you have a superpower hero on tv again you'll smallville it to death.

I do not care for Steve Trevor being tortured. He should be simply lassoed with the Lasso of Truth. I prefer the original story from William Moulton Marston where Steve Trevor is at death's door, the Amazon cure him and brings back to the United States.

Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome invented Ice Cream, frozen Yogurt. Wonder Woman has food from the Greek-Roman gods, the drink Nectar and an Ambrosia which gives her and other Amazons eternal beauty and eternal life and eternal strength.
